Guest guest
For oral supplementation ideas you can Use Ora-sweet it is a suspension liquid used to mix any Rx compound to a liquid form. It is cherry flavor, can be found at pretty much any compounding pharmacy and all you have to do is ask. You dose with a dropper/syringe and only need about 3ml. We use 1ml ora-sweet to 2 ml of water. This does a great job covering up ALA/DMSA , no after taste no burning ….1,2,3 …zip dose is over. No guess works no struggle nor fight.. We have been using this method as well as Ora-sweet for well over 4 years now. During rounds we calculate total amount divided by doses and mix up chelators together ahead of time, Then refrigerate to be used with 24-hour period. Very simple once you divide total mg/ divided by dose you have an accurate dose amount. . Example we use a total amount of 200mg ala and 30 ml of liquid, which 10 doses at 3ml each comes out an exact 20-mg dose. Same with the DMSA 2x 100mg caps (again divided by 10 dose) is 20 mg each dose. The example above was to show the math of each. Actually we mix both the ALA and DMSA together and only need to give one dose at 3ml. It is not as complicated as it sounds. HTH Kenny v > > > > Hi There, > > > > I'm looking for advise. Guest guest
This sounds great. Guest guest
Is Ora-sweet GFCF? Could you please post the ingredients? Also does the DMSA stay " suspended " when you pre-mix it with Ora-sweet? Last weekend I mixed the DMSA capsule contents in water and then pre-filled four syringes to divide it into four doses and put them in the fridge. But the DMSA settled to the bottom of the syringes. I shook them up each time but occasionally some of the DMSA powder got left behind in the syringe. Does this happen with Ora-sweet as well? Thanks, > > > > > > Hi There, > > > > > > I'm looking for advise. My sone who just turned 5 has been > > chelating > > > for 1 1/2 years. Guest guest
To be honest Im not sure as it has been so long we have been using it. Best is to call a pharmacy I did years ago just have forgotten. If anything it may contain sugar or a sweetener. Never was our biggest concern as chelation and the dose accuracy out weighed that. . If it means anything I will say we have been GFCFSFCFAF …free for 5 years now and my kiddo was super allergic and it never gave us a problem in any way. As far as the suspension, any suspension that is not totally dissolved will become separated even more so when chilled. That is why we keep it together as one mixture and shake well right before we use it. Ora- sweet works well, I have tried juices and everything else and still likes the ora-sweet the way it dissolves. Yes if you pre-load a syringe it will settle when chilled as we have done that when we go out and visit places. But now we just bring the bottle on ice because again there is no guesswork as to if you have the entire chelator dose amount ect… As far as the efficacy and how long DMSA is good for in a suspension, that would be no more than 24 hours. I may be wrong but I looked into this before most compounding pharmacies even knew about this. In fact some will still send you DMSA already compounded.
