Guest guest Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Could someone tell me the defintion of this? Is it different than echolalia? I hear this being referred to and am never quite certain what characteristic to assign. Thanks! Beth Quote
Guest guest Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 It refers to things like repeating sections of movie dialog often in the voices of the characters at times other than just after having heard them. " Echolalia " means my son would repeat back to me, what I had just said to him. Dana Quote
Guest guest Posted May 13, 2006 Report Posted May 13, 2006 I get the idea now. My son does and did a lot of echolalia as he was learning language. He doesn't do that anymore, thankfully, but he does converse with himself. I'll hear him in the back seat like he is talking to someone sitting beside him. I wasn't sure if that fit in there somewhere for scripting, because he sounds scripted to me. He will repeat phrases he has heard me or someone else say, but it is usually in context (even if it is with himself!) mb > > > > Could someone tell me the defintion of this?
