Guest guest
I am not an expert, but sometimes a fever has to run it's course and with our little ones we see gains after the fact.
Guest guest
Thanks, yes, kind of what I think now, too. But I do get a little panicky around 103, underarm. I took it again and it is 101.5, which is better, Thanks. a > > I am not an expert, but sometimes a fever has to run it's course and with > our little ones we see gains after the fact. > > >
Guest guest
Have you considered making cool compresses and applying them to the forehead? You can put some ice in a bowl of water and soak a wash cloth in it. Wring the wash cloth out of excess water, then fold it length-wise a couple of times then apply it to the forehead area placing it across the head just above the eyebrows. IT can be coooooold to start so you may want to just dab the forehead area for a few moments to get used to it. You may want to use two wash cloths rotating them out of the cool water when one gets " hot " . Also, sometimes a little water will trickle out of the wash cloth and roll into the ears so you may want to watch for that. The real trick is to get it just right. Not too wet and not too cold. When you have a fever sometimes even a room temperature compress across the forehead will seem as quite a relief. My mom took care of four kids this way when we had a fever. It may be difficult to leave the wash cloth on the forehead with *our* kids, but even so it's probably worth a try. Hope this helps you out! Guest guest
I am not sure I would hospitalize our 5 year old son with a 102 fever ... As for the Anti-biotics, what's done is done, when he comes home, dose him up good with pro-biotics. Who knows, maybe the Anti-biotics will have killed off some of the bad bugs. Just trying to put a positive spin on it for ya .. :-) Good Luck ! Neil _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of DJvirtual@... Guest guest
Thank you. Yes I did try the baths and the ice packs the first time. His fever just spiked so fast there was nothing I could do. Last night, however, a cold was cloth brought it down and it stayed mid 100's all night. I know when I take him in to see the oed today, he will push antibiotics. I guess I will nod my head and smile. What else can I do. Thanks again. a > > Have you considered making cool compresses and applying them to the forehead? You can put some ice in a bowl of water and soak a wash cloth in it. Guest guest
Well, it was 103 and that was under the arm. I panicked. It went up so fast. And you know, once you have them in htere, they won't let you out so fast. Yes, I am dosing probiotics 3x a day and I hope the Rocephin took care of some bad bugs, too. Thanks, a > > I am not sure I would hospitalize our 5 year old son with a 102 fever ... > > As for the Anti-biotics, what's done is done, when he comes home, dose him > up good with pro-biotics. > > Who knows, maybe the Anti-biotics will have killed off some of the bad bugs. > > Just trying to put a positive spin on it for ya .. :-) > > Good Luck ! > > Neil

Guest guest
This is the wise choice. You are PAYING the doc, you are not also obliged to educate him, put up with his venting and emotional baggage, etc. if you don't agree with him. If he wants to know what you think, he can be a good listener, and accept what you say. If you're lucky, he'll surprise you.
