Guest guest Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Wonderful! I've heard of jumps in pretend play with MB12, along with increased interaction. How much MB12 are you using? Do you use 50mg, or 50mcg? 50mg is VERY HIGH, 50mcg would be much too low for most kids. Dana Quote
Guest guest Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 The neubrander site has a parent survey that is like, 8 pages long. This is a list of what they have seen in benefits in some of the kids. You might like to read it. www.drneubrander.com What we got besides improved speech was a lot more curiosity questions, more imagination, more awareness and increased interest/ability to socialize. Also it helped my son's hypotonia quite a bit. HTH Jen > > Hi, > > We have two boys with ASD. Both are HF but also very loopy. Both > take MB 12 in different fashions. We had originally started at 200mcg over 2 doses a day, worked up to 800, then back down to 400. Now we're up to 800 again. I think the issues we had seen were not from the folinic overall. The spray was great. We had done 12 weeks on the shots when we added the spray. From about week 2 of the shot until we started the spray my son was up every night from 2am to 6am all set and ready to go play for the day. You could set your clock by him. It was 2 am every night give or take 5 minutes. Around 6am he'd pass out and I'd wake him up for school with no problem at 7:30 am. From the first day we gave him the nasal spray he started sleeping through the night again. We saw more speech and more general awareness of what was around him. We saw the same horrible sleep pattern when we went from every 3 day shots to high dose daily and after about 3 weeks it resolved itself. My son is starting to resist the spray. Now when I spray it he purposed blows out his nose several times. At this point I have to wonder if its worth even trying to continue it only because I doubt he's getting much of it anymore. Quote

Guest guest Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 I'm seeing a lot more awareness and appropriateness in DS#2's speech if that makes sense. Today he was at his grandmother's house. I don't remember what exactly transpired but he turned to her and said, " Good goin' ! Nanny! " He doesn't even use that phrase. Normally it's one we use like " Good job " . I don't recall anyone using " Good goin' " recently. I think we're just amazed at what we're seeing with the MB -12 powder. Most of the time you hear about this stuff with other people's kids... It's kind of cool. That parent survey you mention...We fill that out before we go to Dr N's office. DS#1 is taking the shots...We saw some deeper thinking and more comments the first round of shots...This time (the 3rd round) I thought the positives were a little more mild than moderate... But now that you mention it, DS#1 has been going around with his sunglasses on his head slanted covering only one eye and covered by a tri-cornered hat saying " ARGHHH I'm a pirate...Last week, he had a pull up on his head with a sock sticking out on either side of the pull up and a dish towel tucked in his waist over his bottom like a tail. He was on all fours barking like a dog.....So HIS imaginative play was in full gear. I'm glad you mentioned your results...Sometimes I think I'm looking for him to start talking about the weather or something, but failed to notice the imaginative play. Thanks for your comments.. That's why I like this list so much. I can get help in putting things in perspective. in NJ Clif Bate <cjbate@...> wrote: The neubrander site has a parent survey that is like, 8 pages long. Guest guest Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 We have seen amazing results with the MB12 shots. After 's (3 years) first shot, he walked up to me and said, " Look Mom, I found a pink ball " . I just about fell over. He was already speaking but only using usually 3 words at a time. And to come and show me something was unheard of. Three days later with his second shot, he said three complete sentences. He, also, began playing pretend. I was amazed, the closest he had come to pretend play was dragging Buzz Lightyear across the floor. He started using eye contact and, after we started working on it with him, it is now a habit to look at us when he wants something. But it made his yeast problem worse so we stopped them for a few weeks to try and get that under control and he majorly regressed. He wasn't responding to his name anymore, his eye contact decreased and he wouldn't even respond to a single question for me. We started the shots again today and when I asked him what he wanted to drink...he answered. I'm so grateful that we have so many things to try that can really help. -- In , <misheemom@...> wrote: > > Was it mentioned to you that you can give the spray at night while your son is sleeping? Guest guest Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 Glad I could help. I'm reading my report from the doctor and the spray is supposed to have the folinic in it. Hopewell said differently....I'm definitely going to call both again tomorrow to find what the real order of things should be. I'm glad we discussed this. It's making notice things I hadn't noticed on the report and about DS#1. Guest guest Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Hi, We started doing the oral drops with my older (6 yo today!) son before we went to a DAN Doc . I don't recall seeing anything too extraodinary with the effects. When went thru some " left turns " in life with unemployment so money was kind of tight. We were finally able to get my 6 yo to see a DAN docand start the shots. We saw some differences in his speech but even more stuff in his thinking. So we knew the shots were working...They've leveled out a bit but the doc wants us to try the nasal spray with him. I haven't gotten it yet...So we'll see what kind of results we'll get. Others could probably fill you in better. With ds#2 3 1/2 yo, I started him on the oral drops, only to realize they were only a B 12 complex and not MB 12. I don't know the science behind it but it didn't have MB 12 in them. I saw that Kirkmans had MB12. There are other places as well.. I figured we'd give it a shot with # 2. Well, we're some good results..Even my husband who leaves all the Dan stuff up to me is seeing the differences. To me thats a biggie, because dh who's not detail oriented, is seeing things. Which means it's not me wanting to see things...If you get what I mean... Anyway, ds#2 is answering and commenting on things more appropriately. He actually backtalked me and told me he wasn't in the kitchen, which he was... So we have backtalk and beginning lies!!! Also he seems to understand directions better. It could all be because he's younger... I don't. Others have had different results. It's like all our kids, each my be ASD but they're also so different from each other. My two boys showed ASD totaly differently.. If you're seeing a DAN doc, I would try the shots first...Then go from there...
