Guest guest
Hello, New to this group. My son was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome the day before yesterday. This has been a very long road for us. For a very long time, the doctor was not sure exactly because my son also shows signs of ADHD, ODD and " some sort of emotional disturbance " . Now that I know what it is I feel that I can do so much more for my little boy. There are some questions that I have of course. I have been reading up on this syndrome and I'm worried. They say that a person with Aspergers has a hard time understanding body language and tend to take things very literally. Although my son seems to struggle with these things, he does have quite a sense of humor. There are times that we can laugh and joke together. He does seem to get " stuck " on certain jokes... repeating them over and over.. but the fact that he can find things funny seems to go against what I have heard and read. I want to make sure that I'm on the right track and I would hate to try and make progress just to turn around and find out that his diagnosis was not the right one.
