Guest guest Posted October 17, 2006 Report Posted October 17, 2006 Have any of you been to him? How long did it take to get an appt? Did you think it was worth it? Has anyone been to his conferences? I am reading " Engaging Autism " now, and I know someone who took her child to see him. She said he is absolutely amazing. I know he is a world-renowned expert, but I am just looking for some other opinions bc a visit to him is quite pricey. Thanks, Jeanine Quote
Guest guest Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Jeanine, A good friend of mine went to see him and it was quite expensive. The appt was at his home which she said was a little unusual (lots of over grown plants and a little messy) She also felt that he himself was a little unusual. He video taped the session that they had and she got to take it with her. This was 5 years ago. She said that the floor time technique was very timing consuming and did not use it as much as she thouhgt she would. I also remember that he told her that her DD was not autistic even though all her diagnosis up to that point were autism. Just some second hand info. All the best, Jill " He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. " Is. 40:29-31 Quote
