Guest guest
Hi all.... As you all know I am rather new here but I have a massive issue that I have to get help dealing with and I am hoping someone here will have an answer. My son (adhd, odd, a/c bi-polar) (13) is relentless about begging me to leave.. When he doesn't go to school he doesn't go to his friends, if he gets below 80% on his daily chart from school he doesn't get to leave, if he is LATE coming home from going somewhere he is grounded for the next day. These are the rules , these have been the rules for well over 5 years. Now when he is told he cant he screams and throws shit, and looses his complete mind for how ever long he is awake. This can go on from 15 minutes to 6 HOURS!!!! I have done everything short of whoopin his butt....I have been nice and sweet, and took his TV playstation PC ect. And it doesn't stop.... HELP!!!!! Thanks ahead of time!
Guest guest
I don't know if this will help, but my now 15 year old was extremely difficult to deal with from ages 12 -14. He was physical and would throw things and have " rages " when told he couldn't do things or couldn't have things. I think now in retrospect that it had alot to do with puberty. We had to write things down in the form of a contract such as " house rules " , lists of things he wanted to earn or buy (such as a birthday list) etc. Seeing it visually did help to bring order to his life. At 15 almost 16, he has calmed down considerably. He still gets ideas in his mind and if they aren't carried out as soon as he'd like, he can meltdown, but no where near as badly. Hormones can make things really get out of whack. Pam
