Guest guest
Benefiber is made from a bean (I believe) type plant......or so the gastro told us. My son is on Miralax, and I think you can get it over the counter. It does the same thing w/o the thickness or grit, but does not produce the gas that some may get from the Benefiber. Guest guest
Of course will keep in touch, Barbara. I think, though, that a lot of parents/moms can relate here, though. The things we do for love of our AS kids, you know? Hugs, Lori > > Lori in Texas, PLEASE keep in touch with me. You sound like youv'e been through everything I'm going through. Thanks again for all your help! Barbara >

It worked for a couple of weeks, then our son caught on. I do make him eat regular oatmeal at least 3 times a week. When he gives me grief, I tell him I won't drive him to school till he finishes his bowl. Since he does not want to miss school it has worked so far. Thanks. Barbara Sheesh, first someone has the kid who loves veggies, now someone has the kid who loves school! ;-) Willa
Guest guest
My son does not eat any sweets or candy. He will not eat the gummy bears. I convinced him (very difficult) to try a Flintstones chewable and it was painful to watch him trying to take small bites of the tiny vitamin...choking and gaging while doing it. Guest guest
My daughter would not touch candy either. She was non-verbal so we could not ask 'why' she disliked them, but we guessed that they may have reminded her of medication. Towards the 'Flintstones' vitamins: Eww! I remember taking these as a kid myself and although the shapes were appealing, the taste was horrid... maybe they haven't improved the flavour! LOL > > My son does not eat any sweets or candy.
