Guest guest
I just bought probiotic with an enteric coating. The company claims the coating helps the capsule survive the stomach acid and reach the colon. Does anybody know if this is true?
Guest guest
Theralac (www.theralac.com) is supposed to be a really good probiotic; a lot of parents are reporting success with it. Theralac is a veggie cap with a grape skin extract coating inside to survive stomach acid; from all the reports I've read, Theralac works. See the following link for a more complete description: http://www.theralac.com/AcidProof.aspx?selection=5 What's the name of the probiotic you purchased??? Guest guest
--- It's called Superior Probiotic from Nutraceutical Sciences Institute. I thought Teralac was mainly for yeast problems. I have bad bacteria problems. If I take a probiotic for mainly yeast, will that worsen my bacteria problem? In , " R. Guest guest
This is true with the enteric coated peppermint oil that I use for spasms of the intestine. Peppermint oil without the coating cannot get to the intestine. Sara

The company claims the coating helps the capsule survive the stomach acid and reach the colon. Does anybody know if this is true? It might be true for THEIR probiotic product but it isn't true for ALL probiotic products. There is a wide range of probiotic types and how they are manufactured depending on how the company makes their product and where the probiotic strain is intended to take up residence. .
