I gave my 9 and 13yo. 1/4 capsule. Is this the same zinc as the Source Naturals? If the toxic hair test showed slightly high copper, should I abstain from giving him any copper at all? Also, is there any benefit to eating beef liver over chicken liver or do they both offer the same nutritional value? Thanks, Sharon K. Guest guest
1/4 would still be to high perhaps for a 9 year old, depends on weight i would go down to 1/8 or even 1/16th i don't like the now optizinc at all, it has a rice flour filler which is easily the worst filler. also the copper form is different so can't vouch for it. are they getting copper oxide from copper piping that their drinking water is running through?. this copper oxide form is ionic and quite oxidising and stressful. i don't know how signifcant this is. well beef liver is better i think since non organic chicken liver is likely high in arsenic since they seem to feed arsenic to chickens in the usa. i would check that the organic chicken's are not fed arsenic either. the copper issue is complex and i do know that high copper levels do not necessarily mean you should not give copper sebacate (the form in the source naturals optizinc) > In a message dated 5/26/2004 9:37:05 AM Eastern Standard Time, > writes: > highish copper levels may indicate some dumping of copper by zinc. > > how small is smallish? > ******* > > , > > My NOW zinc says it has 30mg of L-OptiZinc Monomethionine and and 300mcg of > Copper as amino acid chelate.
