How do I know what to give her and where do I get them? Hi , It sounds like you are on the right track for sure! As far as the enzymes, I'm fairly new to this myself, but I would suggest first & foremost going to see a DAN! doctor. He/She will be able to point you in the right direction as far a what enzymes/supplements are right for your daughter. Here is a list of DAN! doctors: http://www.cgiworker.com/danlist/danlist.html Good luck, & keep us posted on how things go! ~
Guest guest
Hi: You're in the right place! You will get a lot of great advice here! You will definitely want to read 's book: Enzymes for Autism and Other Neurological Conditions http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0972591877/103-1232949-2085427 ?v=glance And check out her great website: www.enzymestuff.com <http://www.enzymestuff.com/> Check out Dana's website too: www.danasview.net <http://www.danasview.net/> Good luck! Josie Totally Overwhelmed but Motivated! Hi, my daughter Jane is 28 months old. We kept hoping that she would start coming to her name, playing with other kids, and making eye contact but she just wasn't. Jane has always been a tip-toer and flaps her hands when she gets excited. She knows a lot of words but can't engage in conversations(can't answer yes or no questions). She is very loving towards her family and sometimes adult strangers but wants nothing to do with her peers. I knew something was wrong and confirmed my fears and concerns with my husband and family (half of them are educators) and we all agreed something just wasn't right. So, I strted on the path to fugure this out. I signed her up for an evaluation at our hospital( Beaumont) and will start those on December 29th. They specialize in the ABA method of treatment so we'll see what they say. Next, I have also sugned her up for a Sensory Learning treatment that starts December 6th. They specialize in stimulating the auditory, visual, and vestibular senses all at once. But the first thing I started was a gluten/casein free diet suggested to me by parent of an autistic child. Well, it's awesome!! It is like a fog has been lifted but I need help on the next step, enzymes! How do I know what to give her and where do I get them? She hasn't had any tests yet (MT, food allergies, stool anaysis, etc) What tests should I have done first? I have an appt. with her pediatrician on Friday to request some tests been done(wish me luck) but I would really love to know which ones and can I start her on the enzymes asap! I plan on curing this thing and I need all the help I can get! I have a 16 month old son too and have been watching him like a hawk! My husband's shrink's wife(they have an autistic son)told me about this site and mentioned the name Dana as someone who has really helped her so I'm here and in need of advice! I don't usually talk this much but I thought I needed to spill my guts, not leaky gut:) to start with. Thanks for listening and look forward to some help. Guest guest
Hi , There are many people here with much more knowledge than me, but here is my humble advice. You are getting a great start by starting interventions early. Wish there had been more information out there when my child was young. I also wish that I'd had a copy of DeFelice's book when my child was a toddler. I'd say order it immediately and start reading. We started enzymes in late August and are seeing really good things. I keep waiting for the crash to happen, but so far so good. My child is much older than yours, so you have an even better chance of seeing good things. I'm sure others on this list will offer you more specific advice. There are really great folks here. Good luck, Totally Overwhelmed but Motivated! Hi, my daughter Jane is 28 months old.
