Guest guest
Please don't misunderstand. I am not opposed to glyconutrients and I think it is definitely something worth looking into. We may try them later with my daughter. I think maybe her system just wasn't ready. I am very put off by the way Mannatech markets it products. I just can't help it. I am also very concerned that the excellent DAN physician we had is now almost exclusively recommending Mannatech products. I have spoken with the parents of three new patients who have seen him in the last six months. I recommended this doctor to every one of them. He has done no testing on these children, no look at yeast issues, diet issues or anything else. He just put them on Mannatech products. While they may be wonderful for many things, I'm not sure they are the be-all, end-all for every autistic child. I still think you need to look at lots of things because all of these kids are different. I hope we see much more research on glyconutrients and that there are more sources available. I spent a lot of time doing research before we started them and I think glyconutrients are promising. glyconutrients > > > > > > I just read a post that someone was using glyconutients. Guest guest
Dear , I completely understand what you're saying. Whereas I think a lot of physicians think a trial of the diet, or enzymes, or ALA may be useful, I agree with you that without testing, one might miss a LOT. (Saying that reminds me of Dana who hasn't done testing with her kids...) I also don't think Mannatech's vitamins with ALA should be taken by people with metals issues. Sigh. I hope the doctor gets some feedback and will get a better perspective. Even if the products are good for everyone, I think it's important to establish a baseline and know what you're going after. Thank you for taking the time to dialogue. I really appreciate your input and plan to follow up on some of the issues you brought up about the company in your other e-mail. Sincerely, , mom to and glyconutrients > > > > > > > > > > I just read a post that someone was using glyconutients. It is another > > > supplement that I am interssed in. We read Sugars that Heal. Guest guest
Hi , It's amazing how we parents have to become experts on such a variety of subjects in order to help our kids. I am posting the site that parent posed on another autism forum about Mannatech. I don't know whether there is anything to really be concerned about, but it was interesting. In another life before autism I was a newspaper reporter and editor and I think sometimes the old investigative juices take over. Of course they come in handy when I am researching new treatments. Anyway here is the site if you are interested. http://www.ncahf.org/articles/j-n/mannatech.html glyconutrients > > > > > > > > > > I just read a post that someone was using glyconutients.
