Guest guest
Hi, We have been giving zinc 5 mg a day for some days now. In general, we have seen better transition and we can more easily suggest what he would do next. It might be the enzymes or the Epsom Salts baths as well. My question is: Is there any suggestion how long we give him zinc? I nderstand you can give ESB for years. We started giving him zinc, because he resulted deficient according to his hair test. I understand this is not a clear cut choice, but we wanted to try it.Shall we just test in a couple of months again, or give it for some time and then do a pause and start again? We don't have a DAN doctor to turn to and the experience and the knowledge of the listmates are of greatest help to us. Thank you in advance, Kristian
Guest guest
I am under the impression from general reading on the subject that it takes a few months to truly change a nutrient level. You might see improvement right off but to get the improvements to 'stick' and the body re-balanced for that nutrient, a few months is needed. If the nutrient imbalance is due some underlying problem that is causing it to be low, you would need to correct that problem too in order for the nutrient to stay balanced on its own. Does that make sense? .
Guest guest
>>My question is: Is there any suggestion how long > we give him zinc? I gave my son significantly more zinc than that, for about 2 years. You can drop it every few months or so, see if you notice any changes. But 5mg really is not that much zinc. The daily USRDA for adults is 15mg. For kids 4-8, it is 5mg. So basically you are just giving USRDA, not any extra. Dana
Guest guest
Hi Kristian, Just wanted to let you know Pfeiffer had recommended 55 mgs per day of zinc for , with a testing after four months. He is 38 pounds and as you know, 3.7 yrs old. At our appointment a few days ago, they said they might even consider upping that amount now that he's been on it for four months, especially when we prepare to use their Promoter. A lot of people would not be comfortable with these amounts of zinc, but is doing fabulously on it. > Hi, > > We have been giving zinc 5 mg a day for some days now.
