Guest guest Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 Hi and all, My son is 3.5 and has been GF/CF for about 4 months and on AFP and ZP (about 75% of the time) for about 2 months. The ZP seemed to give us the happy child effect which was fabulous. But I haven't dared to challenge the diet yet. A few days ago he had some milk at pre-k without enzymes and about 3- 4 hours later was crying, whining, and looking miserable. So I now know what an infraction w/o enzymes looks like. So I decided to do a planned infraction w/ enyzmes to see what happened and if the enzymes would work their magic. So we gave some GF pizza with nonfat milk in it (with plenty of AFP). He had this at dinner and seemed fine before bed. He went down fine, but a few hours later was awake and in our room. This is not normal. He has slept completely through the night for at least 4 months before last night. He wasn't crying or whining, though. He was just awake and happily chatting away. Do you think he woke up because of the casein? One other different thing he ate (which he has never had) that might be significant was pineapple. So is it the pineapple, the casein? Would you do another challenge w/o pineapple and see? What's your advice? Thanks so much!! Camille Lindsey Quote
