Hi , thanks for asking. Does " Some days are better than others "

sound about right? :)

It's clear by now that his worst nights are directly linked to how

much albuterol/Flovent he received that day, and those nights it's

just so difficult for him to pull himself together. We are working

hard on minimizing the amounts of both of those, but it's been a

long, allergic spring...

I would love to hear your suggestion! I can't believe how much

better he is since I've incorporated most, if not all, of the

suggestions I got from this board. It has really made a difference.

Albuterol can cause yeast. My inhaler comes with a disclaimer to that

effect, mostly for oral yeast [thrush], but it can cause yeast in

other places also. And yeast can cause sleep problems.

Thanks for reminding me of that, I keep forgetting to pursue that

angle. This is extremely frustrating because he really needs these

things to control the " asthma, " but they are obviously too much for

his system at the same time. He's now on the lowest dose Flovent,

but reacting badly this weekend. Maybe I'll try some extra

probiotics today and through the next few days to see if that helps.

Yesterday was his last dose of Flovent. I don't know what's causing

this horrible aggression exactly: the steroid itself, something else

in the Flovent, yeast flare as a side effect... I was going to try

to hang in there and see if we could get him adjusted because our

next options are very limited, but it's just not worth it. He must

be miserable. About 15 minutes after his dose yesterday he flipped

out and remained aggressive, emotional, out-of-control the rest of

the day. Today is better but he's still not himself. On to the next

thing.
