Guest guest Posted March 15, 2009 Report Share Posted March 15, 2009 wobenzym is great for inflammation, it doesn't do anything to aid the work of digestion in the stomach, which would alleviate the workload of the digestive organs. the put bromalain/papain in to presumably aid this, but basically it is an animal based enzyme product that works in a pH of 7-9 in the duodenum. so it may " catch " up with some foods and break down, but doesn't compare with plant based enzyme products, that work on food in the stomach. there are other products that were on the market today that work better if you understand a little about digestion. I will stick with the the current enzymes for a while. Guest guest Posted March 16, 2009 Report Share Posted March 16, 2009 hi, some one posted from jon barron's site. the purpose of hydrochloric is (if the body can make it) to sterilize the food and bring the pH down to 1.2 to 2 to change pepsinogen into pepsin (or viceversa). that's all , pepsin begins the first process of pro digestion. that's why wobenzym doesn't help here like plant enzymes can. then when the stomach contents beome like pea soup (hopefully) it spits out into the duodenum and the bile and pancreas bicarb bring up the pH so the amylase, etc begin to work again. hth, linda rn Re: WOBENZYM > > > > You could use this enzyme with the others.
