Guest guest
Hey , Thanks for the info. That is my delimma, BrainChild or Kirkman. You say you give your son the liquid by itself. Does it taste good? Is it GFCF? So many options for us, perhaps too many choices. I will ask my chiro tomorrow what he thinks. Guest guest
Hi Sheryl, Well, he thinks it tastes good. I reluctantly admit I've never tried it. I've had a very difficult time with vitamins in the past, from even one dose, so these I haven't tried, though I try almost everything else I give him for several days before he gets it. Anyway, it's supposed to be lemon lime flavored. The LiquiZinc must really taste good, and it smells good. The Spectrum II vitamins smell vitaminy to me, but the minerals smell good. I think they're GFCF, I'm not sure. Check out www.brainchildnutritionals.com for an ingredient list. It's all there. > > > > > > I haven't started my 30 month old ASD son on enzymes yet as I was > > > going to wait until we could do a Spectrocell (I think) test on > > him > > > to see what he was deficient in. Guest guest
AAaauurrrghhghgh! Pfhew! Pfhaw! Curiosity got the better of me and I took a shot of Spectrum II and LiquiZinc. I can't believe my son, with all his sensory issues, likes that stuff!!! I thought it was awful. The LiquiZinc was better, but geez, still... I hear it's quite yummy when mixed with juice, and I could see that from my trial. Will your son drink a bit of juice? Maybe there's something about it straight that some kids like? Now I'm going to be constipated for three days. Unless I go get out his HIDEOUS tasting magnesium. All in the name of science, lol! > > Hey , > > Thanks for the info. Guest guest
I'm just laughing really hard from your account of your " taste-test " , Mel!!! We work so hard on making them taste as good as we can, and then the reactions really are all across the board, from kids who run up asking for more when we do taste-samples at conferences, to others who react... well, just like you, lol! Adding juice really does help make it workable for many people. Here's a thought I had: You know how they say that if you're deficient in zinc, that zink-drink stuff will taste bad to you, and otherwise you can't taste it? Well, I have a suspicion that depending on people's nutrient status, lots of nutrients taste really different to each person. I'm not scientific to know if that's true for all nutrients, but the huge variation of reactions to the flavor of our supplements makes me suspect it. I know that my husband felt like he was taking vodka shots or something like that, the summer he tried taking them every day himself, and yet our son, like yours, has no complaint about the taste, and has done really well on the supplements for years now. Still laughing... I did forward your first post about how your little guy likes the supplements, to my staff, as they love to hear stuff like that.
