The health food stores cary a much better tasting " pedialyte " . I forget the name at this secon but it is called a Quencher I think and I was always able to get my kida to drink it. I used the lemon. It works better than pedialite or that blue stuff that the sports kids drink. Laurie
Guest guest
Not Dolly, but- when I started my son on Ambrotose he was initially very stimmy and then refused to take them any more. I took a couple weeks off and then started very low (1/8th tsp/day) and slowly built it up over time. He takes 1 1/4 tsp per day right now. He has also taken the Plus (2/day) for the endrocrine system and that seemed to help. Was very excited about the Ambrotose AO and wanted to give him those but he only took them for a few days and then refused them (they are green so may be a phenol thing). I haven't seen the remarkable and miraculous improvements yet but definitely a positive thing. There are 2 reasons why I think I haven't gotten the amazing results others have reported: 1. most people see those kind of results with dosages between 2-3 tsps/day but because of the cost I haven't gotten him up that high yet. 2. he's 16 yo so much bigger and many more cells to fix than a younger child and his problems have existed much longer so may take longer to fix. I could not get any supps in him for so many years so 2 years ago when he'd finally started to swallow caps I went full out. Don't have any doctors help (probably a good thing!) so used the Children with Starving Brains book as a guide and had him on practically every supp I could get into him! This certainly made a very positive difference. Started ambrotose in May of last year. Started him on HNI enzymes in Jan and things were going along very well until we hit the snag with the new version of the enzymes. Took a while to get things back on track even after switching back to the old rice bran version but we have gotten back!! I knew that others said he might not need as many supps when on the enzymes and not knowing what to cut or by how much (no tests to go by, just instinct and observation) I dropped everything. He is now on just the enzymes, ambrotose, a B12 sublingual and one Cal/ Mag/Vit D. supp per day and has never been better. I do plan on increasing the ambrotose over the summer and see if I can get him up to that 2 tsp per day. If I can drop all those other expensive supps now I might be able to afford more ambrotose! Of all the different things we've tried I would say the enzymes and the glyconutrients have been the best.
