Guest guest
I am also in the process of reading the book but have been giving enzymes to my son for a long time in addition to diet. I am thinking about increasing the quantity of enzymes while lightening up on diet as a result of what I am learning. From what I read in the book, I thought I understood that hyperactivity from supplements while taking enzymes was not necessarily a side effect but a result of them no longer needing as much supplements. Enzymes enable the body to utilize more nutrients from the food that is taken in as well as making supplements more available so it would make sense that the quantity should be reduced. A while back I tried to introduce my son to SuperNuThera. I tried both liquid and powder which was a waste of money. I just couldn't handle how hyper it made my son and stopped. For the last couple years I have given him a few supplements but not a multi. A few weeks ago I got trial size bottles of Brainchild multi-vitamins and minerals. I have not experienced any hyperactivity yet his receptive language is much better, he has stopped hitting himself in the head and he is in a constant good mood. He has gone from saying a word on rare occasions to saying several words a day. Twice in the last two weeks he actually said a sentence (I want more and I want down) which I thought I would never hear. > Hi there! We are just beginning to research the enzymes, and I'm > reading the book Enzymes and Autism, which is fabulous, I can't put it > down, really, it's just fascinating! > > Anyway, we are definitely going to do the enzyme therapy, but we > haven't yet started. Guest guest
Except for probiotics and DMG, which was reduced from 3 to 1 a day, we stopped most all supplements while our son acclimated to the enzymes. He now takes a number of supplements, a number of them vitamins, essential fatty acids, etc. and does quite well. There are many parents quite happy with their multi vitamins in combo with the enzymes, unfortunatly we never found a multi that worked for us. However, I am happy to say that the prescription vitamins that my son had been on since 4 months of age were no longer necessary after a couple of months with all three enzymes. Multiple labs show he no longer has any nutritional deficiencies and the osteopenia and vision issues are abated. My son was not absorbing the nutrients he needed from his rather healthy diet, and so his body was leaching the nutrients it needed from his bones and eyes, very rich sources of nutrients. Very scary stuff. New here-questions > Hi there! Guest guest
My son takes Juice Plus Gummies. There are veggie ones and fruit ones. I use that for supplement to diet. Very low in sugar -he prefers vegetable lee
Guest guest
He turned 5 last month. He is taking the Spectrum support Ultra- Sensitive Formula from Brainchild since he is on the SCD diet. He is right now taking 1 tsp each of the vitiamins and minerals 3 x's per day. > Dear , > How old is your child? I am looking for a multi now.
