Guest guest
Your son does not eat much in the way of starches or carbs, which is what Zyme Prime works on, but does eat a lot of meat (protein) which is what Peptizyde works on. What you are seeing is probably a withdrawal reaction due to lowered exorphin peptides, plus he has been on a yeast treatment program. The poo and gas is probably fermented by-products of the yeast die- off, in other words, a gut cleansing is occurring. He may not be constipated, but may have less stool in his system because the enzymes are breaking it down more, and more of it is absorbed, not excreted. The behavioral reactions should taper off in the next few days if it is the withdrawal, if it does not resolve, or gets worse, it may be some sort of allergic response. > Hi, I apologize if this issue has been asked before. Guest guest
LOL , I remember that time here - phew!! Guest guest
Devin, Thank you SO much! I feel a lot better now - and it helps to know that I'd been giving the wrong enzyme. Gosh, I feel foolish over that! Hopefully, though, we'll start to see a change once the Peptizyde kicks in. Otherwise, I think they're going to quarantine our house due to the rancid smell that filters out of our son's room! :-) Thank you! Guest guest
, I'll just chime in here too to reinforce what Devin said. In general, the adjustment effects to Zyme Prime are not nearly as great as to the other enzyme products. And your son wasn't eating much in the way of foods Zyme Prime generally targets. That doesn't mean it wasn't doing any good. It could have very gently gotten his body more used to enzymes/food breakdown and so your adjustment to the Peptizyde is not as severe as it could be. Then when you add the Peptizyde you are getting direct food breakdown of the foods in his diet, PLUS gut cleaning out, PLUS direct impact on killing yeast and bacteria (as evidenced in the stools). So multiple issues at once. Oh...also, the Peptizyde may be enhancing the effectiveness of the anti-fungal meds you are giving. My younger son had The Smell! So I know what you mean. If you are not giving a probiotic right now, I would suggest looking for one...particularly Culturelle. I gave the 20 billion strength type 3 times a day for a while, then dropped down to 1 capsule a day. That will help put some good bacteria in the gut to replace the yucky ones. Yogurt is good too if that is permitted in your son's diet. Give it a week to get better, and post over this weekend on how he is doing. If he gets really miserable, you can cut back on the Peptizyde dose a bit. The die-off/adjustment will be slower but more tolerable. You can also consider epsom salts to help with detox: www.enzymestuff.com/epsomsalts.htm All in all, this indicates the Peptizyde is working just wonderfully and you are doing everything right. . Guest guest
, Thank you so much!!! Your email really made me feel a lot better. I had heard so much about how great enzymes are and how a lot of kids were able to reduce their supplements (and eat regular food again) by going on them - but I hadn't noticed any difference. Thank goodness I found out that we were giving the wrong type for Noah's diet. I am really excited to see what these next few weeks bring and now am confident that we can " wait it out " while Noah's adjusting to the Peptizyde. Am also excited to hear that Peptizyde can help work on the bacteria and other issues. And guess what? This is the third day we've been on Peptizyde and Noah's not craving meat as much. He actually ate veggies today and ignored the meat! Just like old times. That's an improvement, at least. Now if we can just get that rancid gas to go away! :-) Oh, and Mandi - am so glad you can relate to the smell. I know that other mom's must wonder what on earth I'm feeding my kid for him to end up smelling like that! I noticed you said that you remember The Smell. I guess that means you don't have to live with it anymore. Can't wait until we reach that point! :-) Thanks!
