My son eats Rice Dream dessert. I had e-mailed the company a year ago or so

and was told they have two flavors which are gfcf. Those flavors are Orange

Vanilla Swirl and Vanilla. It's pretty tasty, and I often bring him a bit of

Rice

Dream dessert along to parties so he can eat it when others are eating

cake/ice cream.

Good luck,

Debbie

We used one for a while, I think it was Rice Dream but I'd have to check

the label. However, the best solution and cheapest we found was to use

the Edy's brand Sorbet. It is high in sugar, but is a fruit only thing,

no dairy! And it tastes great and has much better consistency than rice

ice cream. You can get it in most regular grocery stores. Wal-Mart has

it the cheapest, and comes in many flavors: strawberry, raspberry,

blueberry, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, etc, etc.

OT: Rice Ice Cream?

Hello,

I am looking for an ice cream substitute for dairy, and was wondering if

anyone has idea's. I know they make rice milk and cheese, has anyone

heard of rice ice cream or a recipe? What is sherbet make of, probably

some sort of dairy. My daughter has an ice cream social to go to and

I'm looking for some cool dairy-free dessert type.

Thanks,

Kari

Dear Kari,

The health food store would have different ice cream subsitutes

available like tofutti. If your child is ok with fruit, Sorbet is a great

substitute as long as you read the labels and make sure there isnt dairy in

it. I buy my daughter's sorbet at our local supermarkets.
