Guest guest
I just noticed my daughter was walking on her tip toes a lot. Does she need a supplement?

Many times this is related to constipation. Does she seem constipated? http://www.danasview.net/constip.htm Dana
Guest guest
it's a developmental thing. my son's therapists told me it's usually a sign of developmental problems, they have problems figuring out where they are in the space around them & may have pressure issues (was suggested to us to firmly rub my son's soles & heels & flex his feet w/ firm pressure from my hand-like he'd be on the floor). i'm not sure at that age tho that it's a precurser yet. cj danced around, not necessarily in a walking motion but often times on his toes. but yet when he started walking he was flat footed, his toe walking didn't appear until he regressed at 15mo. our OT said she had a child that she saw that was severely autistic & toe walked so often for so long (he was 11 before she got to him) that he physically could not flex his feet. it would be something i'd *watch*, but depending how she develops i don't know that it's a problem per say, just may be what she's doing right now. kwim? ~marcia~ > > I'm in upstate NY visiting family. Guest guest
My dd was *late* walking - she was about 14 months before she really took off. Then she started walking on tiptoes everywhere. The only problem she's had is " deformed " toenails - the ends curl under a bit and make them difficult to cut. She has no other development problems, is bright and clever as a button - and is completely unvaxed. I think too much is done nowadays to hurry babies into doing things that they simply aren't ready to do. To the OP - this little one sounds like she's doing fine to me... Just mho. ) Sue > > I think tip-toeing is fine up to a certain point in development. It's > just natural for kids to want to stand on thier toes until they start > really walking around. I think you are so right that we can get caught up in how well our children are doing. I have definitely got caught up in it. People tell me all the time how wonderful is. And she certainly is, but she is no better in the eyes of God than any other child. I don't put other children down, but I have got to come off my high horse when it comes to . I never say anything to other parents, but I definitely don't agree w/a lot of what they do. Even discipline. My 2 1/2 year old nephew was misbehaving. My sister in law told him three times if he didn't do such and such he would get no ice cream. Well of course he didn't do such and such and of course he got ice cream. It just frustrates me! is exceptional. But so is my neighbor's baby and so are my niece and nephew. Thank you again for the dose of reality. You got your point across beautifully and respectfully. Thank you for that! Holly ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
