Guest guest
You might want to do a search of Asperger's Syndrome and see if it fits your son at all. I would certainly recommend trying enzymes. They have been a big help for my daughter. new / overwhelmed Hello everyone, I have two kids that have no diagnosed but I do have a lot of concerns. I am writing to get others opinions. I have had my son evaluated 3 months ago and the development pedriatrican only said that he wasn't autistic. It was only a brief evaluation. If he would have had any doubts they would have given a full evaluation. It is hard to say because my son is pleasant especially with adults one on one. He doesn't like kids that much. He is seeing a private speech pathologist right now because he does show some delay especially in pronounciation. The speech pathologist said he had a very literal thinking. He does talk quite a bit. Even too much at times. He never stops. He can sing all the time. He is very interested in keys, doors and buttons. He always seems to be playing with the doors. He is now walking on his tip toes quite often. His eye contact is not consistent. He does seem quite intelligent. He has an extraordinary memory for faces, names, cars and ev! ents. A lady that works for the hospital has seen my son a few times. She said I wasn't looking at the right place. She said that he was ADHD and perhaps ocd and even tourette since it does run in the family. I am quite confused. She said that both kids are not delayed intellectually so it couldn't be autism. He does relate. He can also imitate... I have read quite a bit on the subject and don't really understand why he would be scared of other kids if it would be adhd. He is scared but at the same time he can socialize with one child that he knows well. I am tired of running in circles. She has suggested that I get him evaluated by a psychologist... It does cost quite a bit of money. My daughter is only 14 months. She never cooed when she was youger. She wasn't interested in us until later. She did start babbling a little bit later. Now she does say quite a bit of words. She has had around 12 colds ever since she was borne. Her immune system doesn't seem to work at all. Again she has been evaluated twice she was born. She did pass all the little IQ test. They will see more as she develops her language. Can anyone recommend anything? Has anyone gone through this? Pull everything you think might be an issue till symptoms clear for 2 weeks, then add back in 1 at a time starting with the thing you think is most likely to not be the issue and give that item every day for 4 days straight, if no symptoms return try the next item on the list. Then you'll know exactly what is causing what. We've been working on elimination diet all summer and figured out so many food issues, now it gives me a starting point to know where to go from here... - near LAX
Guest guest
No I am not doing the gluten free, casein free. I want to try it with my daughter but she won't drink the potato and rice milk. When you do the elimination diet should the eczema disappear completely if I take all the food that she is allergic too. Would it be better just to have her do the ige or igg testing. She doesn't have the red ears, red cheeks or red bottom, diarhea but has a lot of eczema. She is on the hypoallergic milk but there is still some hydrolysed casein and corn syrop which she could be allergic. How do you identify what to start with? Thanks for your patience I am new to all this. She definitely has a problem with her immune system because she is always sick. Thanks for your patience. I am new to all this. Guest guest
GFCF didn't help eczema for us. Probiotics and Evening Primrose Oil (Efamol) did help. Guest guest
I quit GFCF the day my enzymes arrived and haven't been sorry. My son has allergies and while enzymes don't relieve those, he has benefited immensely from them. My daughter's reactions did resolve with enzymes and now she no longer needs the enzymes. Our eczema didn't go away with enzymes, it only went away with probiotics and evening primrose oil (Efamol). Guest guest
Many of these things you describe remind me of my daughter during her worst time and of many other stories parents have posted. You have to decide if a diagnosis is important to you or if it will help you get some services you wouldn't otherwise get. Autism, ADHD, etc are diagnosed (by my understanding) by the behaviors the child exhibits so the diagnosis won't tell you what's really wrong with your child. Keep reading (books, , websites) looking for things that fit your kids' problems-things you describe below and new things you will discover. I always keep reading and I listen to my gut instinct- it's been very accurate for me when I should try something and when I should keep it in the back of my mind for later. You could also start a journal that tells everything about your child each day-food eaten, times eating, sleep, behaviors, bm's, etc. Then when some things start to click you can look in the journal for the patterns. There are so many things we forget if they are not written down. On kids liking adults better-adults are very predictable and it's easy for kids to interpret adults. Where kids do a lot of things that force another child to use many sensory systems to interpret and figure out what the child means. My 4 year old still doesn't know when another child is talking to her even though she loves to be around them. She's also had therapy since before 2 years old with adults so she's had plenty of time to learn adults and is now around kids more so is starting to learn their patterns. You are so lucky to recognize some of the little things that don't seem right in your children. Listen to your instincts. It's ok to decide you do not agree with the professionals you have seen. Many of us do the work on our own with support from groups like this. Best Wishes! Becky > > Hello everyone, > > I have two kids that have no diagnosed but I do have a lot of concerns.
