Guest guest
Hi Shari: Have you had her tested for FOD's ( Fatty acid oxidation disorders)? fat metabolizing enzymes (Vit E, A, D, EFA's) This is my first post. I'm in the process of reading Enzymes for Autism and other Neurological Conditions. Our daughter - high functioning ASD - has absence seizures (spacing out). I notice that she gets worse every time we give her a fat soluble Vitamin and the EFA's. She's 10 years old and has been tested for Celiac's (neg.) She's taking L-Carnitine and Pantethine and she's been on the Houston AFP_Petizyde for two years and SerenAid before that. Is there a specific enzyme that targets fat? She has a problem of oxidizing before metabolizing. Thanks you, Shari
Guest guest
No I haven't. She's had an EFA blood test and a genetic test concerning liver enzymes in the metabolic pathway. Basically, she can't metabolize certain medications because genetically she doesn't have some of the enzymes in the liver to do that. I didn't know there was a test for fatty acid oxidation disorder. Who does that - neurologist, G.I. ? Thanks for the information.
