Guest guest
Hi everybody, Question about my daughter , aged 4.5, SCD 15 months. I started Thropp's Ultrazyme 3 weeks ago tomorrow, and yesterday got the ZP and Pep from Houston's. Gave the first capsule of Pep last night, along with a capsule of ZP and allowed an ice cream infraction. No problems with poop, no problems with behaviour. However what I do see is a pinpoint rash around her mouth (maybe a dozen little spread out dots). I've seen a picture of a yeast rash before, and it looks like it could be a very, very, very mild case of that. This happened to us early on in SCD, but I haven't seen it for months and months. What I'm wondering is -- do you think it's a sign of yeast buildup, or yeast detox? Sue R-F
Guest guest
I cannot advise about yeast rashes, I'm new here and don't know much about that, but I can tell you that pinpoint hives around the mouth is very common in children with IgE allergies. How long after consumption did the rash appear? Do you think they were hives (sometimes hives look like little pimples)? Did the rash go away? If you see it happening again, see if washing the affected area with plain clean water seems to help it disapate. My daughter frequently gets hives from getting residues on her skin and they typically will go away within 15 minutes if I wash the residue off. I believe the thinking of allergist is that this is usually a skin reaction rather than a consumption reaction. However, from my perspective as the mother of a child with multiple IgE food allergies, I avoid any food that prompts this type of reaction because if it causes reaction on the skin she is likely to react to eating it eventually. My daughter had a reaction like this to oats and when we had her blood tested for oat allergy the score was high enough to indicate we need to avoid it. My daughter's situation is a bit different because she is so highly reactive to so many foods, but I just thought I'd mention this in case allergies are an issue for you. I do know a child who was food challenged for her milk allergy, hives around the mouth was her only reaction and so she was considered to have " passed' the challenge, she is eating milk products again and not having more severe reactions. > Hi everybody, > > Question about my daughter , aged 4.5, SCD 15 months. > > I started Thropp's Ultrazyme 3 weeks ago tomorrow, and yesterday got > the ZP and Pep from Houston's. Guest guest
Thanks so much for your input. I don't think they're hives. My younger daughter gets hives when she eats egg whites -- basically wherever they touch her face. This happened a couple of hours after we started the Peptizyde, and they are still there tonight. Guest guest
enzymes are far more efficent sprinkled on food the digestive system is designed to take dairy at body temp. in fact about 48C is best ice cream is permanently out and you are better to have a heavy no additive cream with some whey powder which is all ice cream is or rather all it should be before it is reduced to white cardboard by food processing............ basically the ice cream lets the yeast get away in the stomach cause of the cold temps reducing stomach acid and enzyme efficency plain whey powder seems better tolerated in warm milk and is of considerable anabolic benefit, but it does feed yeast. perhaps you made the ice cream youself? > Hi everybody, > > Question about my daughter , aged 4.5, SCD 15 months. > > I started Thropp's Ultrazyme 3 weeks ago tomorrow, and yesterday got > the ZP and Pep from Houston's.
