Guest guest
does he have any digestive issues? have you a hair test? are there malabsorbtion and immune issues? there is no single metabolic cause and to get results you have to shoulder the knowledge burden yourself as medicine certainly doesn't have it. > Hi, everyone. I don't know if you have any experience with Dr. Hubbuch in Newton, she's a DAN doc, - she is currently booking into August so you may want to get on the list and pray for a cancellation- she is also cheaper than others in our area (her wait list is long beacause she has a lot of exp. in chelation and she is nice) I know other DAN docs in the area are taking new pts within 6 weeks. e-me off line if you want numbers etc. Jen
Guest guest
You can also check with the Marino clinic in Cambridge or see Dr. LaCava (Dan doc) out in West Boylston (suburb of Worcester...45 miles west of Boston)... > I was > > wondering if anyone could recommend a metabolic doctor in the > Boston area > > that preferably has experience with autistic children. > > I don't know if you have any experience with Dr. Hubbuch in Newton, > she's a DAN doc, - she is currently booking into August so you may > want to get on the list and pray for a cancellation- she is also > cheaper than others in our area (her wait list is long beacause she > has a lot of exp. in chelation and she is nice) I know other DAN > docs in the area are taking new pts within 6 weeks. > e-me off line if you want numbers etc. > Jen

A second opinion is always a good check. Most of the books and sites most likely aren't going to tell you what you want to know (although they might be interesting). You need someone who is well qualified in metabolic testing to look at your child's test results...not just some name on a list that isn't screened for any type of quality. How about contacting the Massachusettes General Hospital and asking for someone to look at metabolic testing results. Tim Buie and some others work with autism issues and although they might not be metabolic specialists, they might have someone on their team that is. The address and phone listed are: 55 Fruit Street Boston, MA 02114 Phone: (617)726-2930 I heard a talk by Dr. Ted Page a couple years ago. He spoke on metabolic disorders and autism. You might be able to fax the results and chat on the phone...long-distance consult. I couldn't find any recent contact for him besides he worked at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. .
