Guest guest
I'm sure this will sound funny - but how do I know if my son has a yeast issue? My main concern right now is that he seems to always want to lie down . It's not like he's lethargic, more like he has no energy or whatever he's doing, however small, seems to wipe him out. He was just diagnosed w/ reactive breathing disease and an ear infection, so he's just coming off prednisone, Zithromax and the occasional albuterol neb. I know he doesn't feel 100% better since his nose is still runny and he has a cough - but I wonder could it be something viral that is now wreaking havoc with his system and zapping his energy?! He's on probiotics but should I also treat him for yeast with Nystatin or something else as a preventative measure? And if so, for how long? Sorry this sounds so strange. I've just never experienced a yeast issue w/ him before so I'm not sure what the signs are. Thanks for any insight. Maribeth

Guest guest
The changes in my son were only after adding the enzymes. Have you done any research on the SCD diet and goat milk yogurt?? I think you might be surprised.. My son didn't react to the goat yogurt even before the enzymes. We were also able to add back certain cheeses on the SCD diet. Prior to enzymes.. You would have to do the research, or I can get you the info on it if you are interesed. (or maybe you have done it) Casein was my son's worst problem when we started GF/CF three years ago. He gets an ear infection, etc.. when any of the wrong casein proteins (not that we have tried very many, but we have tried to " cheat " a few times and won't again) Anyway, we did some sugar cookies (GF/CF - corn free, soy free, egg free, etc...) for Christmas. He didn't have many, but he has been sugar free since June. So, I that is why I was wondering if it was the yeast.. Or if other children took awhile to even out after starting enzymes. Guest guest
Dana, Thanks so much for your input. Do I need to give No Phenol on an empty stomach like the Candidase to help with the yeast?? How did you do it? Thanks so much!
