Guest guest
I know of a support group called CHADD (sonething about children and adults with AD(H)D) but I'm not sure if it's a local thing for us or a national organization. If you Google CHADD you might find something. Lori Getz Need ideas for ADHD support groups please...... I have a friend who's looking for ADHD support groups. She's tried the Feingold Diet, GF diet, and enzymes and nothing helped her child, so currently medication has been the biggest help thus far. She needs to find others who understand her situation and not just listen to those who say, " You're not disciplining enough! " Thanks for any suggestions! Guest guest
Diane Craft, has a lot of experience working with ADHD children. Her tapes are rather basic in nature, but very good for getting someone to grasp the concept of the connection of biomedical relationship. Her program, focuses on the basics theory of aphodophilus (3 times a day), and then phasing in GSE 1-3 drops 3 X a day. And then she goes into a bunch of other things such as the EFA's supplementing, and the B vitamins etc. Her into tapes are $20, and I found it to be very helpful. She is for real with a heart of gold and has a lot of experiences. The other thing I like about her is that you have an option to do a phone consultation for $125 for an hour to an hour and a half appointment, for what she defines as non-academic issues. (I have not done this though so am not personally recommending it.) Although this is a lot of money, I have found some of my best resources come from gathering the summary of information as opposed to having to sign up for a series of appointments. But if your friend has done Feingold and enzymes with no help, she probably is not a novice to all of this and Craft's input might be already addressed. Has she addressed yeast? Or maybe a food sensitivity she is missing, possibility could be picked up via an IGG test? I was on an ADHD group at one time and they were open/pro drugs, and mostly spoke of their harrowing stories of dealing with the behavior issues with no answers other than " we can relate " . I'd suggest trying to find a group that specializes in the holistic/biomedical link to actually get answers. Good luck, Kari Need ideas for ADHD support groups please...... Guest guest
Thanks Kari and others....She's looking for people who can say, " I understand " and " I can relate " because, right now, the people closest to her don't understand and feel it's a parental issue, which all of us here know it's not. Will forward this information... Thanks again! Gretchen > Diane Craft, has a lot of experience working with ADHD children.
