AFP Pep question

I think the AFP would help with possible trace amounts of gluten that he may

be exposed to, no matter how fantastic (or in my case, I would say I was

fanatical) you are with the diet. Also, the AFP is a general protease that will

help with the breakdown of any protein, not just gluten and casein. If he eats

a lot of protein foods, I would add it in.

My son is on the GF/CF diet. I give him Zyme Prime & No Fenol. My

question: Can I start giving him AFP pep even though he doesn't eat

gluten ( & very limited soy)? Or is AFP only for those not on the

diet? I already have a bottle of it, just not sure if I should start

him on it?

Thank you,

Yes, if you want. It can help with cross contamination issues [altho

so can Zyme Prime]. It also helped my kids with chicken and other

proteins, to some extent, altho Zyme Prime helped with that also.

Hello all-

When I ordered the Peptizyde for my son, I ordered the regular instead of the

APF because he has a lot of inflammation (just had an endoscapy in late August)

and I thought the regular formula would help with that.

It's helping a great deal ( " cheating " here and there on GFCF after two weeks on

enzymes with none of the old problems surfacing) but I've noticed from the first

day he took them that he needs virtually no sleep, and is much more anxious than

usual. He was a poor sleeper to begin with. His bowels are looser but I've

bumped up his magnesium for bowel impaction issues, so I think that could

explain the consistency of his bm's. He has dark circles under his eyes

(possibly from lack of sleep). The plus side of things is that he's happy. Other

kids are starting to play with him!

Sorry to be so long winded...should I switch to APF? What's the difference in

overall effect?

Thanks for your input!

For some kids, regular Peptizyde works better than AFP. But the

symptoms you are describing, might be intolerance to the

papain/bromelain. Consider trying the AFP, see if it works better for

you.
