Guest guest
Well I hope people who know more does respond to your post. I wanted to mention here something I read that surprised me but might not be the cause of your childs symptoms. There was mention in this book that Low Stomach Acid can produce diarrhea, bad smelling gas & feces and unpleasant body odor. Which are signs of putrefacation. It wouldn't dawn on me that such a young person would have a problem producing stomach acid but I really don't know. Is there a way to get the child checked out, a stool analysis? The book mentioned a slew of amino acids that help encourage stomach acid production but I would be leary of going in this direction. One interesting point that we don't here enough about. We hear allot about HCL but not much about pepsin. Seems the body needs both to work properly. I asked my doctor if I might need the pepsin and not the HCL, if it mattered. And he said yes, you need them both. Well in my case I substituted one and then the other and didn't notice a benifit but a stomach that bothered me. Don't want an ulcer. I am wondering if you had an amino acid testing done and did it indicate the child could be helped with them? Liz D. Acid Stool I saw this headline on a recent post and decided to 'borrow' it, since this describes my sons stool perfectly. His stool is either cottage cheese consistancy, or occasionally softly formed, or sometimes diarrhea. The colour is mid brown. The odour is foul and ALWAYS smells like acid. It has been like this for over 2 years. I stopped all supplements for 3 months recently. No change in odour of stool. We have changed diets from gf/cf to scd, to body ecology and lutein free. Again, no change in odour of stool. No matter what he eats, drinks or takes for supplements, the foul smelling stools are always there. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to eliminate the foul acidic odour? We have tried various antibiotics and the odour goes away only to return when treatment is over. I prefer the natural route but will look at meds to get this under control and eliminated, if neccesary. Thanks for any information. . Guest guest
, Does he have a bacteria problem? It would make sense if he responded to antibiotics. I use Culturelle and it goes away for us. >>We have tried various antibiotics and the odour goes away only > to return when treatment is over. Yep, sounds like bacteria.
