ALA is what most people have used for chelation so it is the only ALA

that we have results from real people on. It is also the ALA that

would have been used in most literature studies that had anything to

do with chelation. R-ALA is a new purified form (of the 'R'

stereoisomer). It has not been used for chelation so there are no

results available from real people (or even for chelation of rats for

that matter).

i read up on it and the R-ALA is supposed to be a better chelator for heavy

metals (in lab tests) but without much real life testing it might be difficult

to get determine the dosage or anythng else.

The helpful advice i got was that since ALA works well (and we know alot about

it) why mess with a good thing?

I have nothing printable to say about the charlatans who try to prey

on people by making up stories about R ALA being better for everything....

regular ALA is after all half R ALA.

I don't consider it responsible to use R ALA for chelation since we

really don't know what the R and S (the other 50%) forms do or how the

interact in enough detail and all relevant publications and experience

were with regular ALA, which is a 50/50 mixture of R and S ALA.

The difference is some unethical people want you to risk your child's

health turning him into a medical experiment so they can make a few

bucks selling you R ALA when regular ALA works fine for chelation.
