I remember a lot of talk about foot detox pads on the autism and mercury group a

few months past. If you are a member there or want to join you can go back in

archives and find what everyone specifically said. There was a lot of division.

Some swore by them and others didn't think they did anything. One person said

someone took an unused and used pad and sent them to be analyzed and the unused

footpad had less toxins/metals than the used pad did. I can't back this up but

when asked the woman who said it provided a link to the person who did post

this.

I haven't tried them, we use the clay for stuff like that. There is more

evidence that the clay draws out toxins.

That is all I know and unfortunately it is all hearsay.

Hi

Has anyone had any experience with the product called " footsies " .

Their blurb says " The sole of your foot contains more than 60 reflexology

points which means it is a very energetically active place on your body.

Footsies help detoxify your body by pulling the toxins out through the soles

of your feet. "

It is a Japanese product distributed by a company here in Australia.

Supposedly it particularly pulls out heavy metals. You apply this special

pad overnight to either top of sole or middle or heel depending on which

area of the body you want to detox. Info is at their website

<http://www.detox-patches.com/> http://www.detox-patches.com/

It sounds a bit hocus, but the acquaintance who referred me to the site said

his ASD son was having significant results. They rotate the position of the

pads.

I've emailed the company for some more specific info but would appreciate

any first hand experience or second hand info.

Thanks

:-)

I have hearsay too. I have a friend with an ASD son who swears by

them. Let us know if you try them and what you find out.

I haven't heard of them but here is something strange. My father-in-law told

me about a news story he saw regarding a spray a family used on their

autistic son. I told him I'd research it.

Guess what the miracle spray is------ Magnesium Sulfate. Also known as

Epsom's Salts. It does make sense (I have a strong education in chemistry). So,

I'm going to be using that manner of chelation for awhile. If it doesn't give

results, I'll move to the ALA every 3 hours.

Hi all Mad here from Aus, has anyone heard of or useing chelation foot

pads from Japan, there are a few names for them but we are all useing

the footsies brand over here with some great results, they draw the

toxins out through the feet while sleeping(very easy no sleep loss).

I've used them on my son off and on for over a year. They seem to help a bit

in some areas. I haven't gotten the feel they are pulling metals, but are

helping on lesser levels. I've tried a few different brands, but not the

Footsies.

Someone, on some message board I'm on - can't remember - send used and unused

foot pads to be tested for metals, and the unused pad came back high in

aluminum. This is one of the pads with a foil backing, which was what I was

using

at the time. The concern was that the aluminum could cause additional problems

for the child. I stopped using pads for a while after reading that post, then

eventually found pads with just cloth/mesh on both sides instead of a foil

backing.

I did e-mail Footsies and found that one of their three pads has cloth on

both sides, while the other two have foil backing. Maybe I'll try that Footsie

out!

I sure would love to believe that they actually pull metals, but it almost

falls under the too easy to be true category for me. My son is hugely reactive

to so many substances that I really hope they work!

Check the archives. Several people tried them. I don't recall what they wrote

about their experiences.

I'm not saying foot detox pads do or don't work. But I do know that the

parent who found the unused pad contained metals sent in a pad with a foil

backing.

There are foot pads available with cloth mesh siding instead of foil. I wish

that type of foot pad had been sent in! If money grew on trees, I'd send one

in just out of curiousity.

, although I still have tendon pain (elbows and plantar) I have

not had the *severe* plantar pain since going on DMARDs. The MTX

together with the stretching exercises got me past the severe stage 2

years ago. Since then, I've switched to Humira. I also continue to

do the plantar stretches faithfully every day! I can tell that if I

did not do this, I would be in trouble with PF again.

Hi

First of all , I have had SEVERE pain in the foot like you. I

emphasize that you should go and get fitted for orthodotics and ditch

the pretty shoes. NEVER GO BAREFOOT. EVEN IN THE SHOWER. Also I

received 3 cortisone shots in each heal about 7 years ago. ONE AFTER THE OTHER

.... in a 3 month time span. In addition I also had massage

therapy, which overstimulated my feet. I ended up loosing up a band of

tissue that popped like a rubber band. At the time I did not get

diagnosed. The pain will go away and find another spot. .. I promise

you that...

You can look at that good and bad.

Good luck

Thanks all! When I say I have done everything I mean I have done

everything, orthotics, inserts, massage, physio, stretching, laser

therapy, cortisone and my bare feet haven't touched a floor in a year

now. It is nice to hear that there are people that have gotten some

relief with drugs at least. Trying to stay active when you can't walk

is tough ;)

One of the first symptoms I had was severe foot pain. At first I assumed it was

a sign of being on my feet on the job too much. I ended up getting orthotic

shoes which took away the pain. I went to a specialist in orthotics. You must be

careful that the person involved has good credentials as this is a largely

unregulated industry. Ask your Rhuemy for a referral. UNLESS YOU GET HELP YOUR

FOOT PAIN WILL NOT GO AWAY.Good luck

, I also found that wearing Dansko clogs made a huge difference in

my ability to walk and stand. Now what I mean is that I could walk and

stand for 15 minutes at a time compared to only 5 minutes before I got

those shoes. I now have 3 pair and that is all I wear.

You must continue to do the stretching exercises - forever in my

opinion. Otherwise it will only come back or continue to stay bad or

get worse.

Hi ,

your feet are probably just like mine now. Only that mine started acting

up only about two months ago. Before, my PA has toured from hands to

hips to back, an Achilles tendon, then again some fingers, and elbow, a

shoulder, but now it's firmly settled in both of my feet and will

probably stay there for some months before again hopping elsewhere.

I have it in the front half of each foot now, specially the area where

the toes attach (sorry for not knowing the exact English name for that

area).

Today I had to stand for six hours, doing some welding work, and right

now I'm sitting at the computer, clenching my teeth and planning how I

will get over to the bedroom later. It will NOT be on my feet. I think I

will be able to manage it on all fours, as the knees are OK right now.

My only treatment at this time is with an NSAID. I know I should go on

MTX, but all that blood testing and doctor visiting that's necessary

just doesn't fit in my schedule. Much less now, that I'm living in the

beautiful countryside, so that I have to drive three hours to the

nearest city. At today's gasoline prices, I can't do that too

frequently. So, I try to endure my feet instead, with mental exercises

such as " the pain is my friend " , and so! Humor helps more than drugs,

some people say... ;-)

I would guess that MTX or other DMARDs should help in most cases. I do

get some relief even from soft NSAIDs like Meloxicam (mobic), which by

the way is very kind to the stomach. I take 15 mg once a day, which is

the highest recommended dosage. I have no stomach problems from it, but

I had them with several other NSAIDs. Meloxicam does not make me pain

free, but on most days it makes the difference between being able to

walk (with lots of self-control), or rather preferring to flip over and

walk on my hands. The latter looks rather strange when I do it in the

street or in a supermarket.

So, hang in, there is hope!

Manfred.

I had the problem last year big style. I could barely walk and running was out

of the question. I was on every anti-inflammatory going. I went to a different

GP and he said it looked like PA. Went to a specialist. she recommended

methotrexate. read about it. Didn't like the idea of the drug whatsoever. I

have been a very active person so I was like f%#* this i am looking for an

alternative. Went to a homeopath from Holland. Dr van Eynatten based here in

Cork, Ireland. My toes and feet have improved. He has been giving me medicine

which has helped but certainly not cured.

Do lots of stretches on your feet. Wear orthotics, comfortable shoes and

thick socks. Avoid leather shoes!

One of the things that finally sent me to a rheumatologist and diagnosis

was pain in the balls of my feet. After about a year of sulfasalazine,

and this and that, I went on Enbrel. The foot pain evaporated.
