I ordered the Amalgam Illness book, is there also a hair interpretation book? Yes, " Amalgam Illness " and " Hair Test Interpretation " . More info at www.noamalgam.com I like both books, for different reasons. > > Did you use ALA only? No. Although our hair tests did not show high lead, the tests were all low and had deranged mineral transport, therefore, my understanding is the toxic element levels may not accurately reflect the body burden. We are renovating the old house we live in. Although I feel we've been very careful and the kids' blood lead levels have been checked, I think we can make a case for using DMSA, if not every round, maybe once a month, sometime along the road. I haven't decided yet. Besides, I had my amalgams removed recently and could not start ALA until 3-4 months after removal. So, the kids and I started on DMSA only. Now we are all doing DMSA + ALA. Also, DMSA, per Andy (see detox protocol in Files), can accelerate detox when used with ALA and can help suppress side effects. We may at some point use ALA only, or as I mentioned, DMSA once a month. I plan to run another set of hair tests at the end of the year. I think we're lucky in that we're moderately poisoned, healthy, and we haven't had any big problems. More poisoned = more side effects. > > I need to get my daughter on a multi, it's just that she is so sensitive to everything. I am going to try that soon, but we are dealing with other things (bacteria, yeast, etc) and if I introduce things at the same time, we have BIG problems. > Many people prefer to avoid multi's and introduce one supplement at a time. There is more info on this in the Supplement File in the Files Section. Enzymes (Peptizyde, Zyme Prime and No Fenol) helped us get a handle on dysbiosis in my younger dd. We are using Candex as part of our yeast protocol now.
