On another message board, this was related to virus issues, and starting anti-virals eliminated the problem. Dana Quote
Guest guest Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Hello, My son never had this problem but I looked in my notes when I was a very active member. I could be a sign of not being able to detox out the ammonia the body makes - pretty serious. I have two differnt thread for you to read you may even be able to email these people still? At the Enzyme-autism group #71997 and at the chelatingkids2 group # 63452 Good luck. Ann Quote
Guest guest Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 What chelator, dose, and dosing shedule are you using? I presume your son has NO mercury amalgam dental fillings. If he has any amalgam fillings stop chelation immediately. If not, try Andy's protocol instead of the DAN protocol. Excessive exposure to mercury causes excessive salivation (perhaps the body's way of trying to dilute the toxins?) Most DAN docs prescribe/recommend too high a dose and too infrequent dosing which runs the risk of redistributing rather than chelating the toxins. Guest guest Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 We are not up to chelation yet -- we are now starting nutrients. For the last 6 weeks my son started Methyl B-12 injections. Guest guest Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 We just completed the first 6 weeks of DAN protocal with Methyl B-12. The next 6 weeks we will continue B-12 and add nutrients. There is a powder which is supposed to be diluted which has all the nutrients in one. Valentina Scharpf <val999@...> wrote: No B vitamins? No magnesium, no minerals? What DAN protocol did he start? Guest guest Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I am sorry, I don't think I understand... When did he start salivating a lot? During the B12 " protocol " ? Or you started all those supplements and the diet at the same time with B12? You spent 6 weeks just giving B12 injections? I am sorry I have so many questions, but I am just trying to understand when he started salivating/spitting... Valentina > We just completed the first 6 weeks of DAN protocal with Methyl B-12. Guest guest Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Its OK. Please ask as many questions as needed. He started the salivating about a week before the B-12 protocal. So we spent 6 weeks giving him just B-12. The salivating has gotten a little worse after the B-12. This week we add the nutrients. Guest guest Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Infection might increase salivation. Also nasal obstruction (being forced to breath using the mouth), certain drugs (that stimulate the cholinergic system), allergies could also do it. I think low inositol and serotonin could also cause the body to react like this. I would definitely reconsider the B12 injections. Maybe stop them for a while and see how things go. I am not saying B12 causes this, but who knows... Is your son high cysteine? What is carnosine doing? What are you giving it for? What progresses did your son have while in carnosine?
