Guest guest Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Honestly, I don't know if the guilt will ever go away for me. I felt uneasy about the whole vaccine thing but was talked into it by doctors and friends. What helps is helping others and doing my best to save other children. My husband and I have three younger siblings who are just now getting married and wanting to start families. I feel good that I prevented my second son from getting it and I really hope I can prevent it in my brother's children. Saving other children is how I am coping. Hopefully when he is recovered he can say he forgives me. Ajerseygirl52@... wrote: I have been having a problem with guilt lately and I wanted opinions please? How do I get past the guilt of poisoning my children Are you chelating your kids? If not, learn how to do it the right way and chelate! When your kids will feel better, you will too. Do yourself a favor and forgive yourself for trusting the medical community. You did not poison anybody!! Valentina Quote

Guest guest Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 Sue, We all go through this but then we have to go beyond it. You did what you thought was best at the time. So did all of us. Nowhere in our wildest dreams did we imagine that a toxic poison was in those vaccines. So now the best way to get past it is to grieve for a while (this took me several years) and then use your energy to help get them better. This whole situation stinks! Sometimes my husband and I just look at the last 25 years and shake our heads because none of it had to happen. I think we should all send the bills for our kid's treatments to the CEO of Eli Lilly. Barb (whose son is 25 and whose other kids have almost all left the nest now doing those " normal " things, while he gets left behind.) I feel so bad especially with my son that > has severe nonverbal autism. My #2 *had* that dx, severe nonverbal autism. Now he is verbal and no longer qualifies as autistic. It is not necessarily " damaged for life " . I personally blame the doctor who gave my son HepB vax when he was 2 days old. >>that because I listened to my doctors, I gave him poison and it > hurt him for life. How do I get past the guilt? Don't listen to doctors any more. No doctor has ever seen my son since his dx at age 3-1/2. He will be 10 years old in a few months. I stopped listening to doctors, and my son is nearly recovered, almost finished with supplements, altho still delayed in language, so not yet age-appropriate. Dana Quote

Now they are mostly converted. >>When I read > all the posts by parents that are flying off to see Dr. Bradstreet, > I am glad to see that someone is getting the help they need, but I > also feel like the biggest failure on earth. At first, because of his dx of " Kanner's autism " , no DAN or other doctor would agree to accept my son as a patient. Now they will, because I proved them wrong, that his dx does NOT automatically mean he can't be helped. Now doctors are agreeing to accept Kanner kids. You are NOT a failure because you don't have a doctor, or can't afford one. In fact, your son just might be better off because of it. My son no longer needs any diet or most supplements, and many people in my local support group have been doing biomedical for more years than I have, and their kids still need diets and many more supplements than my son does. Guest guest Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 ---Hi Sue, Yes, we have ALL gone through the guilt, after the denial of our childrens' diagnosis...etc. How old is your non-verbal son? My son is also non- verbal " autistic " . will be 15 in March. Before I go on, I want to say that you may email me privately if you wish, there just aren't that many of us Moms with non-verbal kids. It is good to meet another. Autism Is a whole different world, but .. " autism " without speech is yet ANOTHER world beyond that! As was mentioned...you need to get beyond the guilt to be the best mom, advocate, researcher, teacher, and to be able to treat your child. I have learned that NO ONE will do it for me, so I'd better get on with it! You can do it, just look FORWARD...not back, the guilt/depression will only slow you down. Your kids need your time, love and anything you can learn about treatments. You are at what I believe to be one of the most informative places you can be. I have learned more here than any place else through the years. I have notbee online in awhile bc of pending divorce and trying to make ends meet on my part time income, but I used to be here EVERY day...and I will again someday...Unfortunately my focus must be on income and not my son for now. has a twin sister and an older sister and we have learned to laugh alot of stuff off...it is the best medicine, and it feels better than crying. My faith in God has gotten me through many unbearable days/nights/weeks/months/years. I could not do this without the knowledge that my Lord is right there beside me...I am never alone in this, neither are you. Please feel free to email me, if nothing else I bet we could share some pretty funny stories! My prayers are with you! Since I bailed on the pediatrician, my son is so much healthier, even apart from autism issues. Just an example -- at 3 he was on 2 different asthma meds and still needing monthly trips to the ER. No medical person ever suggested that diet modifications or getting rid of antimony would help. Thanks to biomed he's not on any meds and has no asthma at all. And yes, my family has come around too. They continue to be amazed at the changes, and no longer blame my parenting . Nell Quote

Guest guest Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 Sue, if t his were true, every child who has had all their recommended immunizations would have autism but the fact is they don't. We just can't really know the whys of their diagnosises always. All we can deal with is the here and now, and go from there in helping them the best way we can. Guest guest Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 I have to disagree with Karin regarding the fact that all kids who received all vaccinations would have autism, but I do have to agree with her that we need to deal with the here and now. Sue, you trusted our government and physicians that they would not jeopardize the safety of their citizens, when the truth is, they have been using us as guinea pigs for many, many years. Unfortunately, some of us found out the hard way that we need to ask more questions when it comes to the health and welfare of our kids, as well as ourselves. Back when your oldest child was born, the industry hadn't put the pieces together of the reactions some of these kids were having, so, we, as parents did what we thought was best. You didn't intentionally do this to your kids, and neither did I to mine, but now we have to try to take care of them the best that we can. You can't keep beating yourself up over a decision you made in the past. You did what millions of other parents did, only you and many of the rest of us were unfortunate enough to have children who couldn't excrete the poisons from their bodies fast enough to prevent neurological damage. There are many degrees on the spectrum of autism because the longer the poison stays inside the body, the more damage is done. You had nothing to do with the damage done, the pharmaceutical companies new this stuff was poison when they put it in the shots. They were watching their bottom lines, not our kids' safety!! Guest guest Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 You have nothing to be guilty about. We all believed that the doctors knew best when it came to vaccines. You can help your child biomedically. Have you heard of Defeat Autism Now aka DAN Doctors. Most kids see improvements and more than a few are recovering with the protocol/treatments these doctors are doing. We can't afford all the lab > work, the chelation treatments that require close monitoring are > beyond our reach. That sounds really hard. Since you are getting no credit from the people around you, I truely hope you have supports elsewhere, the more the better. I really mean it -- you need it all the more because of husband who won't discuss it & family who " think you are nuts " . At least I would find that hard. Now, the not being able to afford it part -- I think this is something you may be able to change. I guess it depends a lot on your attitude toward doctors and testing. The materials needed for chelation are NOT expensive. Consider using ALA only. The expensive parts are doctor visits and testing, which are optional for some and totally mandatory for others -- again, depeinding on attitudes. Consider your options, ask questions and consider some more. I chelated myself with ALA for 1.5 years. The only really expensive part was getting my amalgams replaced. The ALA for 1.5 years cost about $100 or maybe $200, I don't know how many bottles I bought. (I was also taking really high doses some of the time, plus I'm an adult so would take way more than your son.) I also bought a BUNCH of different timers (and I recommend this! DO NOT SKIMP ON TIMERS!) Anyway, I don't mean to be pushy about this, but I felt really sad reading your psot, and I do hope you'll consider your options with regard to the cost issue. If you keep reading here you will find I am not the only one who chelated myself or kids without a doctor. (In my case, myself only -- no kids -- but others have chelated kids with various levels of minimal help -- often because there were not good options available and/or too expensive...) > I will never give up. I'm glad. Good wishes, Moria Quote

We touched base with our family practioner, letting her know what we were up to, and that we might be needing some help or tests in the future. We've only had the DDI hair test done. I've added up what we are spending, and it is not bad for one person. Times 3 people though....and it is stretching the budget. By far, the most expensive part for us is probiotics and enzymes for digestion & yeast control. I've also added in some supplements for myself which are on the spendy side. Good luck, in Illinois Quote
Guest guest Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 We are chelating without a doctor...and we have eight poisoned people and we are only on person #1, so we can't do a bunch of tests. I might test 's urine today....after his first round of chelation....just to see if anything came out...I don't need an RX for that. Quote
