My 3-year-old daughter was diagnosed last fall with both verbal and non-verbal

apraxia. She is now taking 2 proEFA pills per day and we are going to add a

proEPA soon. We have seen wonderful results with the fish oil!

My grandma, who ran a health food store for years, was telling me about lecithin

yesterday and the benefits it has on helping the brain absorb fatty acids and

helping brain and motor development. I searched all the archives but didn't

find much.

Has anyone tried supplementing their apraxic child with lecithin granules with

positive or negative results?

(Here's a helpful article I found during my research:

What brand of lecithin do you take?

Note that on the subject of lecithin, if you take too much lecithin, you

may find yourself with calcium loss, as lecithin is high is phosphorous,

and the body does what it can to maintain a certain phosphorous-to-

calcium ratio in the bloodstream (including taking it from your bones).

I recall the year that I was supplementing lecithin, I then went to

the dentist and they found new 7 cavities! (by far the highest amount

ever for me)

So if one supplements with lecithin, one should not overdo it, or

add extra calcium.
