It is possible that it could be a supplement that he was previously tolerating

fine. My

daughter was spitting incessantly when she first started Peptizyde. She said it

was a

bad taste in her throat. posted a few ideas for me to try and the one

thing that

worked was eliminating SuperNuThera (Kirkman's vitamins supp). She had been

taking

this prior to enzymes and then suddenly it was causing something like acid

reflux.

The SNT was high in B and C vits among other things. I dropped the SNT per

's

suggestion and the problems was immediately gone.

Hope that might help.

Rosie,

What other supplements is your son taking (as Serena brought up)? Is

he on any high B stuff?

Does he have any food intolerances/allergies to fruits? The Enzyme

Complete has more 'fruity' enzymes than most others and this can be a

problem if he has difficulty with many fruits or phenols.

Those are the main and most common things to start with. It isn't

common for such a forceful cough to persist as a normal part of

adjustment to enzymes.

If the coughing persists, you might want to have his lungs checked

(or x-rayed). Once my younger son was having a tough cough for a few

weeks and then suddenly he said his side was hurting. It turned out

he had inflammation in a lung and it was bronchitis. When this

pattern happens to my husband he turns out to have bronchitis or

pneumonia. I don't know what type of weather is in your part of the

country but are having extreme cold and funky weather which might

promote this. This is just a precaution and doesn't have much to do

with enzymes, but I thought I would toss it out if it didn't get

better soon.

Hmm. My 3 yo NT daugher keeps getting these early- morning, not-quite-croupy

coughs that can last for 6 weeks. Ped has no answers. She swallowed her first

enzyme this morning -- she was so proud of herself lol. Guess I'll have to

start a diary for her too.

For me, this is eating a food that the enzymes do not address. I will

have a major cough, sort of like whooping cough. Very nasty.
