I just give all 3 every time. Maybe if a meal leans heavily to carb, I'll throw in extra Zyme or something like that, but basically I like not worrying about it. As for NF, n still can't tolerate big phenols like grapes even with it, so I'm giving it for anti-yeast reasons anyway. Nell
Guest guest
Hi. Started ds on No-Fenol yesterday because of all the comments about how much it helps with ADHD/ADD. DS is ASD, but on the hyper side. Happy to report that so far we're not experiencing any extreme reactions at 1/3 cap per meal. He eats no snacks. DS not have a diet high in phenolic foods from what I can tell, but I understand No-Fenol is good for chemical additives and such? So I thought maybe with foods like McD's, etc., it would be good to layer in. So for instance, yesterday he ate: breakfast -- banana, two Van's waffles lunch -- seven McD's chicken nuggets, small fry dinner -- two grilled cheese sandwiches (four pieces Vermont organic whole wheat bread, four pieces organic cheese, organic butter), three oatmeal cookies w/a few choc. chips in them (Please, I know his diet sounds atrocious, some days are better than others... I'm sorry it sounds so bad...) I guess my question is, is it worth my pursuing No-Fenol if he doesn't really eat high phenolic foods or even fruits and veggies besides banana? Also, I'm feeling timid about making his school add in the No-Fenol to his lunch AFP dose. Should I get over that and make sure he has the No-Fenol with every single meal? Or is two meals a day with No-Fenol enough if the lunches aren't high phenol? (But pizza day would be a problem, right?, cuz of the tomato sauce?) If the food he eats isn't high in phenols but he takes the No-Fenol, will it go ahead and work on the yeast wall even if it's not taken on an empty stomach? Sorry to feel/be so direction-less and needy today. Just needing a little support and feedback about our introduction of a new supp... Guest guest
For my son, No-Fenol helped with: > breakfast -- banana, two Van's waffles banana, depends on ingredients of waffles > lunch -- seven McD's chicken nuggets, small fry spices in nuggets > dinner -- two grilled cheese sandwiches (four pieces Vermont organic > whole wheat bread, four pieces organic cheese, organic butter), three > oatmeal cookies w/a few choc. chips in them cheese and butter [he needed NF with milk products], chocolate > (Please, I know his diet sounds atrocious, some days are better than > others... I'm sorry it sounds so bad...) It does not sound as bad as others I have read. Don't worry about it. > I guess my question is, is it worth my pursuing No-Fenol if he > doesn't really eat high phenolic foods or even fruits and veggies > besides banana? Give it for a week, then stop it, see if you notice any difference. But it does appear, at least based on my son's experience, that it would help him. Also, I'm feeling timid about making his school add > in the No-Fenol to his lunch AFP dose. Should I get over that and > make sure he has the No-Fenol with every single meal? Or is two > meals a day with No-Fenol enough if the lunches aren't high phenol? Might be sufficient, might not. > (But pizza day would be a problem, right?, cuz of the tomato sauce?) Yes, plus a few of the other ingredients. > If the food he eats isn't high in phenols but he takes the No-Fenol, > will it go ahead and work on the yeast wall even if it's not taken on > an empty stomach? For my son, yes. Dana
