Before I had enough experience to know how much/how often to give them, GSE and OoO sent n into wheezing and the nebulizer. Now if I see the tiniest sniffle, I cut back on whatever to keep the reaction from getting worse. Nell

Do you think the endotoxins from die off trigger it? Generally, we have only seen viral triggers for Zach's asthma, but who's to say what else was going on in his body? I wonder if yeast/bacteria flare when a virus is present? I gave the boys GSE the first couple of days, but now I have backed off to just the probiotic. I will lower the dose a bit. I guess this at least tells me that something is happening in his body (I'm hoping for the positive, that the beneficial gut flora is winning!). Zach's asthma this evening seems to have calmed, now he is sniffling and seems like he is coming down with a cold. This is the first time I have ever aggresively treated him for yeast. Thanks for the info! Miti
Guest guest
Maybe someone with experience could also verify if this might be tied into that excess mucous cough that occurs with die off or treatment. started with it right away 4 weeks ago. Yes one could say " it's just a cold " , but would be in her throat in the morning only, no other symptoms, and if she was successful to cough it up that would be the end of it for the day. She is finishing up with a normal little cold so hard to tell now if it's related, but has had it the entire 4 weeks. AND I'm pretty sure the olive leaf extract may have reduced the cold. I was so fearful it would turn into bronchitis and I would have to make that horrible decision about antibiotics. However I will say since the cold and/or OLE we've noticed a kind of regression. I guess I'm thinking (hoping...) because her body's fighting this viral invasion it is a temporary set back. Thanks, Kari Re: OT/Probiotics and asthma Nell, > > In a message dated 1/18/04 7:20:47 PM, jmandmb@y... writes: > > << Has anyone here had an > > experience with asthma and yeast/bacteria die off? > > >> > > Definitely. Guest guest
If the asthma doesn't settle in about 3 days wouldn't it be wise to consider his response being from a sensitivity of the product ingredient? I have a neighbor with asthma symptoms and the medication the doctor gave her didn't work at all. The doctor said that it was the strongest medicine and she didn't know what else to do for her. I offered her some of my MSM because I read that it reduces asthma symptoms in some people. And it worked for her wonderfully. MSM is a sulfer supplement and not all of us can metabolize sulfer properly. Please do a search for more information. I do hope this could help. Liz D. OT/Probiotics and asthma Zach seems to be stabilizing this afternoon, but nights are usually when his asthma is the worst. If anyone has experience they could share, or perhaps some links/reading, it would be appreciated. Best, Miti

Has anyone here had an > experience with asthma and yeast/bacteria die off? My kids did not tolerate any probiotics, except Culturelle when they had a bacteria problem. It might be the probiotic, you can remove it for a few days, see if that helps. Or try giving activated charcoal about 30-45 minutes after the probiotic.
