Guest guest
>>>that school nurse really makes me mad. they are not supportive of alternative treatments at all. Tina I found the school nurse's attitude has a lot to do with the success (or not) of the school situation. The first nurse we had was very not- with-the-program but the new nurse had a totally different attitude. Unbelievable. Now there are several kids in the school all getting their enzymes. I just LOVE telling moms, " oh, your kid is in my son's school? Well Ms. X there knows all about the enzymes. " What a blessing to have one little simple thing going right to make the parents' and child's (and teachers!) lives easier. However, at another school 15 minutes away, I hear the nurse of that elementary is digging in her heels against everything and making life sooo difficult on the little boy in question. Ugh. Like life needs one more complication. .
Guest guest
OK Penny, I've been following all this with increasing amounts of anxiety. Right now the school nurse has been extremely supportive of enzyme use and is following my directions to the T, but in the future, yikes. ANYWAY, here's the important part: for my son to take his enzymes, they have to be opened into one of those syringes where the bottom comes out, then 3/4 tsp. juice added, then shake, let sit a few minutes, then give. Then he knows he doesn't get to eat until that tiny bit of juice is squirted in. What if you tried this? Just put the whole caps into the syringe with juice, and see how long they take to dissolve? (until the powder comes out from Houston's, no more little dogs getting half capsules, lolololol...) Then the instructions to the nurse from the doc's medical consent (which you have given him word for word) can say EXACTLY how to do it and she will HAVE TO BY LAW administer them in that way. Remember that enzymes, chilled, can be kept for up to four hours, so your directions could read, " two hours before eating " (or however long it takes the caps to dissolve) " drop caps in syringe and fill with 2 tsp. " (or however much you need) " of juice. Immediately before snack or lunch, administer liquid into mouth after shaking well. " Or whatever. Think that will work? In fact, I'm thinking of trying it myself to stop fussing with opening those caps! Guest guest
My heavens, it's like they WANT to sabotage your efforts!!!! What is wrong with people????? I'm sure someone mentioned this, but perhaps all problems will be alleviated once Devin comes out with the " bulk " enzymes that you just measure out yourself? Anyone know when they're coming? Then the trained person will be able to measure out the dose into the liquid... Geez, good luck. > , > > What the school is claiming and my reading of land state law seems to back them up, is that they can only administer medication and/or nutritional supplements in their orginal form.
