Guest guest
its not simply a question of protien but nutritents. you cannot get enough nutrients excluding meats. soy should be excluded. only animal foods have the high nutrient densities of minerals vitmains and amino acids necessary to support a childs growth. > > > > > > After reading about the diet I figure I cannot even consider it > for > > > my 2y4m son because he is already a vegetarian.I wouldn't have > much > > > to feed him if I removed rice,gf pasta and pototes. Not sure if > > yeast > > > is a problem ...will be testing this month sometime. > > > > > > He seemed to have a good appetite when I started GFCF diet 10 > weeks > > > ago.But the last 5 days he has barely eaten a thing. Not sure > what > > to > > > do.I removed supps 2 weeks ago becasue his screeching got alot > > > worse and I was worried they were feeding the yeast(if it's a > > > problem). He's still schreeching, maybe just a little less... > > > > > > Also want to thanks everyone on this board for being so > > > helpful.Great bunch!!! > > > > > > Nikki

I would drop the soy for a week, see what happens. Soy is chemically similar to milk, and many AS kids do not tolerate milk. Some kids tolerate soy with certain enzymes, do you use enzymes when you give soy? Other proteins you can consider are nuts and beans, does he eat those? This site might help you Vegan-and-Gluten-Free/ If you want to learn about making breads without grains, these sites might help http://www.pecanbread.com/ http://www.scdiet.org/ I know of alot of > AS kids' who refuse to eat certain foods. He had been eating well on > GFCF diet but now he has not had an appetite for about 5 days.Any > suggestions?? Guest guest
--- Dana, I tried to drop his soy milk but it ony lasted 2 days becasue he wouldn't eat.So i gave it back to him.I do give him all 3enzymes though with each cup he drinks. He does eat cashew and peanuts etc.But hasn't been eating any of his faves. He did do this before when he was younger and not on any diet. And then he resumed eating again.By the way, thanks for the link to vegan and gfcf.It will come in handy!
