So even if it wasn't SLS, there would be some major chemical in there. Have you tried using a visor while you wash hair? I realize that this may not be feasible with some kids sensory stuff. Guest guest
Robin, Maybe I will just stick with 's baby shampoo then. I did try a visor maybe 2 yrs. ago, didn't go over too well. But now hair washing isn't a struggle...I put a hand towel over his eyes as I rinse with the hand shower. I just wanted to stay away from unnecessary chemicals and have tear free also. Guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. Thanks for the reply, > In a message dated 12/29/03 11:21:27 AM Eastern Standard Time, > justice9999@m... writes: > > > Can anyone recommend a gentle, tear free, SLS-free shampoo to use on > > my kids? > > > > , > > Chemicals are what make the shampoo tear free. Guest guest
Aubrey's makes a baby shampoo, wash and lotion. No SLS or propylene glycol, etc. Re: A gentle shampoo for kids? Guest guest
I've been using Calif. Baby for a year or more and really like it for my son with sensitive skin. I buy it from the co-op (Blooming Prarie), but I copied this ingredient info from www.drugstore.com Jeanne California Baby Shampoo & Bodywash, Super Sensitive For Adults, Kids, Babies & Newborns! * No: Fragrance * No: Lauryl Sulfate * No: DEA * Made With 100% Decyl Polyglucose * No Tears, Hypoallergenic * Safe For Use With Homeopathy * All Natural No Tricky Ingredient Listing or Label Claims Chemically sensitive and immune impaired people need to pay particular attention to ingredient listings. California Baby® prides itself on full ingredient disclosure. Chemically Sensitive Facts & Tips: * Germaben is a tricky way of not listing parabens! Germaben is the trade name for the combination of methyl, ethyl, propyl & butyl paraben. Germaben is not listed in consumer chemical dictionaries. * California Baby® uses Decyl polyglucose exclusively in all of our Shampoo & Bodywash and Bubble Baths. * Decyl polyglucose is Non-Invasive and extremely biodegradable. Ingredients: Aloe Vera, 100% Decyl Polyglucose (extracts of corn, coconut & palm oil)., Vitamin E, Vegetable Glycerin, Citrus Seed Extract, Very Small Amt. (.15%, this is less than 1/4 of 1%), Of food grade methyl/propylparaben.
Guest guest
My daughter is very sensitive to chemicals including artificial colors in foods and various fragrances in many types of products (shampoo, hair spray, paint, markers, body lotion,...). Aveeno has a good fragrance free body lotion and the shampoo we use is called, " Tom's of Maine Natural Shampoo Aloe & Almond " . It does include in the ingredients: " sodium lauryl sulfate (from coconut oil) and " cocobetaine (from coconut oil)....is there something in this that I'm not aware of that's bad? I thought coconut oil was good. Thanks for any advice, Gretchen > In a message dated 12/30/03 1:48:54 PM Eastern Standard Time, > PDD@l... writes: > > > I use Nature's Gate Shampoo for Babies.I buy it at the local Health > > food store. It is gentle and smells GREAT!I started using it myself! > > > > nikki > > Nikki, > > Did this have sodium laurel or laureth sulafte in it? > > Robin > > >
Guest guest
My older son's hair is thick and would matt and tangle easily. I found Aubrey's Primrose and Lavender (no sodium lauryl whatever) and it is very nice. Smells great too. His hair is sooooo soft and manageable now. Because it costs more, he is the only one that uses it, but it is worth it. His head was so sensitive too, it was a nightmare trying to brush his hair. Now no problem. I bought it at the health food store. .
Guest guest
Do a search on the net for sodium lauryl sufate. It is a degreaser and not good for you. It makes me sick as a dog, no, sicker. And it is not natural. Liz D. Re: A gentle shampoo for kids?
