I am new here and have not read anything negative about NAC. What did

you read? It is an excellent anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory. If

you have a large waist those fat cells produce a lot of inflammation and

this will help.

I am not yet taking it, but it is on the list for my next supplement order.

Freeman, NAC is rapidly broken down to yield free cysteine in the body,

which produces toxic effects even while a small percentage benefits the

liver, which sees it before other tissues do.

NAC also has a half life of about 4 hours in the body so you need to

dose a fairly toxic dose every four or five hours. This is why doctors

use it only temporarily to save lives, citing diminishing returns. The

dose would be 500 mg to 1000 mg every 5 hours, roughly.

This work is mentioned in the book Breakthrough in Cell Defense by

Gustavo Bounous.
