Guest guest
Hi WOW, you don;t waste any time LOL Congratulations on what you have acheived in such a short time! We had the same issues with yeast and bacteria. We use Biocidin from www.biobotanicalresearch.com Its a herbal that is good against yeast, bacteria and parasites. Tastes nasty but you don't need much and Sam takes it pineapple juice. Others have had success with Olive Leaf Extract and Oreganol oil. MOst of these natural things tend to be high phenol though we don;t have a problem as we use No Fenol enzyme in addition to the Pep and Zyme. Enzymes (we use HNI and Candex) have helped considerably with gut bugs, we give them with Biocidin. Drastically reducing sugar brought the biggest die off reaction, cutting down on complex carbs helps too by starving out the critters in the bowel. The difference in stools you are seeing is good news, its a slow process and not something you deal with and forget about unfortunately, until those metals are out (my son has high Lead as well as meeting the Counting Rules for Mercury) you will need to do maintenance stuff I suspect. I beleive that a year on copiosu doses of HNI enzymes prior to starting chelation has smoothed the way for us, we still get flares but they are dealt with swiftly and onwards we go..............godd luck! Guest guest
Start probiotics - they are the good bacteria that the intestinal tract needs to get rid of the bad bacteria and yeast. We use Fluro Jen once a day added to his drink, but I'm sure there are other brands out there. Your son sounds alot like ours (he's 2 1/2). He is on a total of 24 different vit/supp. He has been non-verbal since he was born, only babbling, and now has over 10 words in just 2 months of supps. Guest guest
My son who is 29 months old is very similar to yours. He is getting evaluated on the 24th this month for speech and by a psychologist. My son didn't say anything until he was 27 months old. Now he started to mimic us, but never says for example that he is hungry or wants to drink. Only he says " come " if he wants us to help him or wants to show us something. He isn't autistic, but delayed in speech and some in comprehension. Autistic children mostly have behavior problems, some can speak well. They mostly spin things/or themselves, line up toys, objects and they get easily frustrated if something is out of line. I wouldn't worry too much, you are doing the right thing, you are getting the help for her needed. Give her more time to develop. But do the multivitamin/supplements for sure. Guest guest
Hi Helen, Welcome to the group. You will find a lot of ideas and resources here. My youngest daughter was also adopted from China at 13 months, and she is now 4.5 years old. She just placed out of speech therapy through the county services, after 2 years of speech. We use fish oils and Vitamin E, and saw immediate benefits. She went from " talking with her mouth closed " (almost like humming) to making many sounds. My daughter also did not speak a lot at her preschool last year, but as her confidence grew, so did her speech. She still is a bit reserved in new situations and larger groups, but she is becoming more and more comfortable in those situations as well. It is hard to tell whether that is just her personality, insecurity with speech, or part of her innate defense mechanism (she takes a while to warm up and trust people). Best of luck to you. Feel free to contact me off-list if you have further questions: mommydowd @ (remove spaces). Guest guest
, Thanks for the warm welcome and the advice. I am going to do the fish oil, the speech therapy - we have another appointment with development pediatrician in August after she's had a few months of speech therapy and I'll keep talking to her. I'm also going to read the book " Late Talker " and the archive you sent along with your reply. And you are soooo right! I was pushing too hard when I was asking her " Who says moo moo? " - I was " working " on it two nights in a row. The next day I picked her up and was putting her in her car seat and nonchalantly (without thinking) asked her how her day was. She put her hand on my mouth and said " No, no, no " . Ahhh, I got the message - I was pushing too hard. So I'm taking my cues from her and seeing what progress she'll make with our new therapies. I've decided to just talk out loud and she can hear whatever I'm thinking ;-) That way she can absorb lots of words without me pushing her. Thanks so much!
