Guest guest
I wanted to let you know about a new product I have found in our local New Leaf Market. Food For Life (makers of GF breads) now has a gluten-free brown rice tortilla. I have tried them (OK, I'm thinking about buying them by the case) and I really love them. They are large-sized, so for those of you who have been longing for a burrito, here's your chance. The flavor is fabulous. I like them toasted with a bit of cheese on top, sometimes filled with avocado, salsa, or sandwich ingredients (turkey, lettuce, and tomato is great). I have also steamed them and filled them with burrito ingredients. They are a bit stiff when you take them out of the package. If you microwave them, it is a good idea to moisten them first, but steaming on the stove works better. I have also deep fried them as tortilla chips. The only problem I have had is that some of them have small holes (a very minor inconvenience). If your local health food store doesn't carry these tortillas, they are worth asking for.
