That is interesting. If I thought a company was sugar-coating their answer I would just go without it. And to risk it for beer? Not attractive enough to me. It's time intensive to keep researching a product of interest and somewhat uncomfortable to have to think and wait indefinately, but if you can get a representative on the phone, you can usually pin them down and get something like, "Well, if you're 'really' sensitive, no you shouldn't use it." (a recent call of mine ended this way and started with the line, "we have a guy who works here who is 'sensitive to gluten' and he drinks it all the time and has no problem!".
