Hang in there Debbie, we are your family. If you have a good day, go to the

library and visit the children's department. Read a child a book, it makes

you feel even better. Also you may want to keep a diary. I had a friend

whose son had a baby out of wedlock and she wouldn't let the grandmother see

it. I told her to keep a diary of every thought, holiday and occasion that

she misses her. Someday she can give it to her and then the child will know

it wasn't her fault that she wasn't allowed to see her grandmother. Hang in

there OK Write anytime, I , and many of us really do care.

Love Ya,

Connie

Deb,

Congratulations on getting your disability! That will take some of the

financial pressure off of you and your mother, now you can spend more

time just helping mom and dealing with CMT and all of it's demands.

Please keep us updated.

Bless you and Mom,

Dave

All taken care of! I also corrected the database so that members can

edit or delete their information, I had it set up wrong! Sorry.

Wow, where'd this come from??? I didn't even know you were

considering the DOCband! I'm positive you will never regret your

decision :) You'll be amazed at how well the DOCband fits when you

get it in.

You followed your motherly instincts and went with what your gut was

telling you. I'm sure this is a decision you'll never regret

making. You NEED to feel comfortable with the product, as you said,

you weren't comfortable w/the other helmet, so you moved on.

Will insurance cover the DOCband?

Thanks for your update. Glad the casting is over, I'm sure she's

completely forgotten about it already.

Let us know when the DOCband is in.

Sorry to hear you were less than pleased with your STARBand.

That is weird that there were red marks on the flat spot. I would

think there shouldn't be any pressure points there.

The castings aren't fun, but are a necessary evil that is soon

forgotten

I'm sure you will be thrilled with your DOC Band! Those parental

instincts tend to be right on!

Hi :

It was actually quite simple. I called CT, scheduled the casting for

that week after we stopped her STARband, and went ahead with the

casting. I called our ins, told them our situation & all was fine

there.

What are you concerned about? Insurance probably? Have you contacted

them yet?

Also, i saw your earlier email, Carol kson, President of CT's

email is erickson@... .

Sorry I'm not of more help, but like I said, everything went quite

smooth for us :)

Debbie,

TERRIBLY worried about the insurance. I should probably just give

them a call today and hold off on the email until I talk to them.

Wheew... just really nervous. YOu know how it is, I'm sure. After

hearing so many stories of people having to fight about it, I really

really really am nervous... I'll go call them now and see what they

have to say to me about it.

Thaks.

GOOD LUCK today ! We're all cheering for you!!!!

You can tell them that the plagio was CAUSED by the torticollis. And

it's true too. In many casses plagio is secondary to tort!

Sending lots of GOOD vibes your way!!

, I'm not Debbie, but I was just wondering something.

Did/Does your little one have tort? If so, I can see where they

would want you to concentrate on that aspect because of tort, there

is a flat spot because of limited movement due to the tight neck

muscle. I could be wrong here, but because of tort, plagio exists.

Am I confusing you? I'll shut up now, because I am starting to

confuse myself.

Hi :

I can imagine how worried you are about her not like the band :( I've

been w/the group 2.5 yrs now and have heard of a few babies never

getting used to their band/helmet. It is rare, but as I said, I have

heard of it.

It's still new to her though, let's just HOPE & PRAY she'll get used

to it SOON.

Hang in there!

Hi Debbie,

Since you said your daughter's name is Molly, I assume you posted a recipe for "Molly's Bread" a while back. I make that all the time and love it for my kids. It is so healthy and full of great grains. My daughter likes it a lot too. Thanks for posting it.

Welcome to the celiac world, Piglet. (My mother is called Rabbit, so we must be related.) My 16-year-old (on Wednesday) daughter, Molly, was diagnosed 14 years ago. A few quick suggestions:

*read the www.celiac.com web site, if you haven't already. There's a wealth of information there. Our new and fabulous local web site is www.bayareaceliacs.org.

*try the GF products at Whole Foods. They're pricey as heck, but the breads are delicious. Most GF breads are not! Other indulgences: Crave chocolate cake and brownies (at Piazza's and elsewhere -- find out from the Crave site, www.cravebakery.org), "I Can Eat That!" pizza crusts (Draeger's) and Kapcakes ready-to-bake goodies. Other than Whole Foods, all of those bakers are in Northern California and deserve our support. Besides, their stuff tastes delicious, even to a non-celiac like me. Another terrific local web site for goodies and info is Sure Foods Market (www.surefoodsmarket.com).

*plan to come to the Stanford Celiac Conference on Sept. 16. I learn something new every year, and it's a day to meet other celiacs and not have to ask if what you're eating is GF.

Good luck!

Debbie

Hi, all. I was just diagnosed this week. My friends call me Piglet (no, I am not kidding!) and as you can tell, I live in Hill. I don't have an appointment with a nutritionist for a few weeks, and I'm feeling very lost, so any help you can offer would be very welcomed! I am reading all I can get my hands on, but I think it's making me more confused.Thx in advance,Piglet

Hi Sabreena,I'm so glad you like the Molly bread! The beauty of it is that you make it with whatever good grains you have on hand and want to use. I've modified the flour part of the recipe many times over the last 14 years. Unfortunately, in the last year my Molly has developed some new allergy that we cannot pin down (right now she's not eating corn and soy as well as gluten), so she's not eating baked products. My 21-year-old, who has a wheat allergy, thinks Molly bread is heaven on earth.I've been thinking about posting the recipe for our latest dinner-table staple, socca, made from garbanzo bean flour and olive oil -- very few ingredients and super delicious. Thanks for writing,DebbieOn Jun 13, 2006, at 6:11 AM, Sabreena Haque wrote:Hi Debbie,Since you said your daughter's name is Molly, I assume you posted a recipe for "Molly's Bread" a while back.  I make that all the time and love it for my kids.  It is so healthy and full of great grains.  My daughter likes it a lot too.  Thanks for posting it.SabreenaFrom: Debbie Duncan <debbie@...>Reply- To: Subject: Re: [ ] thought i'd introduce myselfDate: Sun, 11 Jun 2006 12:07:16 -0700Welcome to the celiac world, Piglet.
