Leina,

I have been too busy to write anything lately, but I have been following your

posts and I too am super happy for you!

I had a thought about why things like this cause such a struggle against

grandparents. The thing is, they are all concerned with the here and now---they

want to enjoy their grandkids right now, and they want them as cute as possible

(no helmet) and without any evidence anywhere that they could ever have a

problem. As parents, we are always thinking about our kids' long-term happiness

and well being. Grandparents don't even seem to care about that. I have had

many struggles with my mother over my kids and they all boil down to this. She

just wants to spoil my sons now so they'll be jolly and love her, while I want

to teach them manners, brush their teeth, fix their crooked heads, etc., all so

their futures will be better.

Anyway, now I am crossing my fingers that your boys will get used to the bands

with no problem and you will see improvement quickly!

talked my husband into helmeting both my boys. =) I am super happy now!!

decision to band my children, they are all my in-laws friends. I tried to

explain, they just won't listen. I don't care. I am the mother, I know what's

best for my babies.
