Hi Diane,

I've been reading up, and I'm glad to see that the long wait is over--

you've got your braces. How do they feel?

I checked out the web sites, and you're right. They are quite

handsome. Interesting that your gyn and his wife work at the same

place, and that they're both ob/gyns. Leads me to wonder if he

delivered his own children.

Yes I would say that my OD and OMS are good looking. I guess that

doctors are more likely to practice healthy eating/exercise habits.

That's what I would hope anyway. There are of course those who don't.

-Hello, Joanne - Yes, I'm fully in my braces now, finally. I got the

wires and bands(first molars only) installed on Tuesday and didn't

eat much that evening, as my mouth was a bit sore. I visited my OMS's

office on Tuesday after my OD appointment (it's right on the way back

to my workplace) but he was on his lunchbreak so his receptionist and

insurance manager took a digital picture of my mouthful of braces for

him to see. As I returned to work, I heard a " boing " sound, and

looked in my mouth: one of my o-rings had popped off and the wire had

partially slipped off the bracket. So, I made an appointment for

Thursday morning to get the problem remedied. My OD and his assistant

are SO nice! My teeth are still hurting, which is good (something's

starting to happen); the only problem is that it is hard to bite into

food with my teeth hurting. Last night I had a hamburger and it took

me twenty minutes to eat it; I found myself taking little nibbles

into it. And, I think my teeth are actually starting to move: the gap

between my two upper front teeth appears to be closing! My OD told me

that my teeth may start to move right away, and not to be surprised

if I notice changes really soon. I feel constant pressure to my teeth

whenever I talk or open my mouth - is this normal? I sure hope my

teeth move F-A-S-T so I can get my surgery moved up (supposed to be

next summer). Well, so far so good! My next OD appointment is

September 13th; my OD plans to replace my wires. He will be putting

the bands on my second molars sometime this winter, as he says they

are needed for the surgery. Well, that's all for now. ~~ Diane-- In
