Dear all:

I will be having my surgery at the end of december beginning of January in

Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am quite happy with my new ortho and surgery docs but

there are some issues that make me feel a little anxious and still don't receive

the feedback I need.

I started the orthodontic treatment twice, the first time was horrible, my first

doc put me an expander straight away which made me have reabsortion of the

fourth upper teeth (starting from the middle) so my second (and professionally

much better ortho) decided not to touch the upper maxilar because of this

reabsortion. (I have underbite and openbite maloclusion grade III the operation

envolves both maxilars)

Does anyone had or has reabsortion of any tooth? what are the consequences if

they are expanding the maxilar in the operation for the future?

another question: I read that Ibuprofen and similar pain relievers raise a

person's risk of heart attack. At first I was happy about the fact of having

ibuprofen after surg bucause I new it was something given to pregnant women, but

sometime ago I read an article in the newspaper that scared me a bit, because I

imagine that after the operation I am going to be having loads of pain killers.

Does anyone know which pain killers are the less damaging?

and one more: how long do I need to be able to feel confortable with friends

around without caring about my swollen and bruised face? I know this is very

personal, but still I would like to know what are your experiences about,

because I am very sensitive to others looks and comments.

Thank you very much and I hope everyone is fine and getting better and better.

All the best!

Elisa.

ps. I would be glad to share my experience in spanish if anyone is interested.
